About the team:

Legal & Compliance Section is responsible for the overall co-ordination of legal and compliance related matters within the bank and its associated entities. It designs and carries out the compliance program. It also provides internal legal consultancy including draft and/or review the legal documents to be used in the branch.

Role requirements:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive compliance professional to join our team. The successful candidate will support the General Compliance function and provide advisory support to business stakeholders, particularly relationship managers, on compliance matters including but not limited to investment-related regulatory requirements.

Support the management and administration of the General Compliance function.
Act as a trusted advisor to relationship managers by providing timely and practical compliance guidance, with a particular focus on investment-related compliance matters.
Assist in the planning, coordination, supervision, and delivery of compliance monitoring and training programmes.
Review, update, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and manuals to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Monitor and respond to enquiries, reviews, and requests from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
Assist in reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or amended regulatory and statutory requirements.
Lead and/or support compliance-related projects and other ad hoc initiatives as assigned.

Essential Functions:

Strong knowledge of banking compliance and regulatory requirements.
Experience in investment-related compliance is preferred.
Good analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Continuously acquiring requisite knowledge in the field through day to day work and training, the individual should learn to work independently or in a team;
The individual respects for and commits to high standards of business ethics, conduct and integrity in the sphere of banking and finance arena, in particularly, its related compliance area.

Work experience, education and skills:

Bachelor’s Degree or above in Accounting/ Finance/ Business/ Legal/ Economics/ Risk Management or related disciplines;
At least 5 years’ experience in compliance, preferably gained from financial institutions or professional firms, experience in investment-related compliance is preferred;
Strong knowledge of banking compliance and regulatory requirements;
Be analytical, logical and attentive to details;
Good analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Familiar with MS Access would be a plus;
Good command of English and Cantonese; fluent Mandarin would also be an advantage.
