About the team:
Loan Operations Section (LOP) is responsible for executing bilateral loans and syndicated loans drawdown, rollover and repayment and the related booking. It also ensures the loan conditions are met and properly registered before execution. Moreover, it processes the agency loan operations and settlements which include execution of drawdown, rollover and repayment, confirmation and notification of drawdown, interest due and rate fixing to the borrowers and the syndicated loan participants.
The Bilateral Loan Team is responsible for bilateral loan and Guarantee Issuance operations while the Syndication Loan Team is responsible for managing the daily demanding and more complexed Syndication Loan transactions. Both teams are required to support LOP to handle system projects initiated by Head Office.
Role requirements:
- To follow the policy/direction of the Department/Section & to assist superiors in accomplishing the Department/Section’s overall duties & responsibilities at all times.
- To assume the checking, approval and control functions of the Department/Section’s operations and to supervise/ control the relative day-to-day operations
- To check & ensure the proper completion of the Department/Section’s reports to the Management, HO & the regulatory bodies.
- To alert for operation/ control deficiencies and to report to the superiors, & to suggest and work out solutions where applicable.
- To answer the general enquiries of internal & external parties in relation to the Department/Section’s operations.
- To observe and comply with all the established operation / procedure manuals and guidelines.
- To provide inputs to the new products & services introduction & launch and the establishment of relative operation manual & IOP.
- To provide inputs to the daily administrative functions and the re-engineering/enhancement projects for operation, control and IT enhancements.
- To conduct regular review the IOP/ guidelines and to revise it where appropriate.
- To coach and motivate the subordinates for accomplishing the operation tasks smoothly on time.
- To perform any other duties assigned by superiors.
Essential Functions:
Hands-on experience in Loan operations (e.g. operations of Bilateral, Syndication or Agency Loans and Bank Guarantee Issuance etc.)
Competencies:
- We are looking for an individual who has mind-set to make improvements for higher productivity and performance;
- Continuously acquiring necessary knowledge through day to day work and training, the individual should learn to work independently or in a team;
- The individual respects for and commits to high standards of business conduct and integrity in conducting operations, reporting and etc.
Work experience, education and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Around 3-4 years of experience in bilateral loan operations administration, including 1 year in a supervisory capacity;
- Exposure in Bank Guarantee Issuance required;
- Experience in handling Syndication or Agency Loans;
- Experience in supporting system implementation or enhancement for loan operation;
- A team player, attention to details and independent;
- Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin an advantage; and
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Suitable candidate with less experience will be considered as Associate.
