The Director, Human Resources (Projects, Pre-Opening) is a strategic leader responsible for building the entire people infrastructure for both the hotel and lounges from the ground up. This role partners with the Pre-Opening General Manager, department heads, ownership, and corporate teams to ensure a successful launch with a high-performing, fully compliant, and engaged workforce across all business units.

What you’ll be doing:

Phase 1: Foundational & Strategic Setup (6–12 Months Before Opening)

Develop comprehensive manpower plans and staffing guides for both hotel and lounge operations, in collaboration with department heads.
Prepare payroll and HR operational budgets covering all business units.
Draft and implement the Employee Handbook, code of conduct, and HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored for both hotel and lounge environments.
Set up HR systems (HRIS, payroll, time & attendance) for multi-site operations.
Design and launch employer branding and recruitment strategies to attract talent for both hotel and lounges.

Phase 2: Talent Acquisition & Recruiting (3–6 Months Before Opening)

Lead mass recruitment for all operational and leadership roles across hotel and lounges.
Organize and execute job fairs, local outreach, and online recruitment campaigns targeting diverse hospitality talent.
Oversee the applicant tracking and onboarding pipeline for multiple locations.
Ensure all hiring processes are legally compliant and all employee records are accurately maintained.

Phase 3: Training & Culture Building (1–3 Months Before Opening)

Develop and execute a comprehensive pre-opening training calendar for all new hires, including both hotel and lounge teams.
Coordinate brand and service standards training in line with corporate and brand requirements for each business unit.
Arrange for mandatory certifications (e.g., safety, food hygiene, lounge-specific service standards).
Organize familiarization trips to sister properties or lounges for key staff.
Drive the creation of the mission, vision, and values for both hotel and lounges.
Plan team-building activities and launch employee recognition programs to foster a unified culture across all sites.

Phase 4: Opening & Transition (Opening Week and Beyond)

Oversee final preparations: uniform distribution, dry runs, and readiness checks for both hotel and lounge teams.
Ensure all team members are prepared for the first guests and customers.
Facilitate a smooth handover to the permanent HR leadership team post-opening.

About you:

Project Management: Highly organized, able to manage multiple complex timelines and deliverables across different business units.
Strategic Thinking: Capable of building a workforce from scratch for both hotel and lounge operations.
Resilience & Energy: Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure, multi-site environment.
Communication & Employer Branding: Excellent communicator and marketer, able to position the hotel and lounges as employers of choice.
Cultural Leadership: Passionate about building a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment for diverse teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5–8 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a pre-opening or project-based HR leadership role in hospitality (hotel and/or lounge experience preferred).
Proven track record in large-scale recruitment, training, and HR systems implementation.
Strong knowledge of local labor laws and compliance requirements.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
