Responsibilities
- Design and develop modern, scalable applications using frameworks supporting both academic and administrative functions;
- Participate in implementing microservices and containerized deployments to improve system modularity and maintainability;
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines using tools like Microsoft Fabric and Argos, to support analytics, reporting, and operational systems;
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure system availability;
- Involve in the integration of university ERP systems, such as Ellucian Banner, the new ERP System for Human Capital and Finance Management, and LMS through secure APIs and middleware platforms, ensuring data consistency and real-time access;
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of application updates;
- Apply secure coding practices and participate in vulnerability assessments to ensure applications meet institutional and regulatory security standards; Collaborate with IT security teams to implement identity management, access controls and data protection measures;
- Develop testing protocols including unit testing, and user acceptance testing, and system documentation and user guides;
- Produce documentation of the application developed;
- Scheduling and participating in regular meetings with stakeholders/ functional users on the implementation of the system;
- Undertake other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in enterprise application development and data platform modernization;
- Practical skills in JavaScript framework such as VueJS, NodeJS, etc;
- Solid experience with backend scripting languages such as Python, PHP, Java, JavaScript, SQL and RESTful API;
- Knowledge of PL/SQL is beneficial;
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, etc);
- Demonstrated skill in Business Intelligence reporting, data modelling, and full-stack application development;
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, proficient in written and spoken English, strong analytical skills;
- Ability to work independently and in teams;
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality and continue improvement;
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years.
