RESEARCH AND INNOVATION OFFICE

Assistant Manager (System Implementation and Support) (Ref. 260415002-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be a member of the Information Technology (IT) and Development Team in the Office. He/She will be required to:

(a) support IT-related projects and implementations;

(b) collect and analyse user requirements to prepare functional and technical specifications;

(d) arrange and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for departmental systems and IT-related projects;

(e) design and develop agile and quick solutions to support requests;

(f) manage and maintain IT-related documentation;

(g) maintain close communication and collaboration with internal units, particularly the Information Technology Services Office, and liaise with external vendors on related matters;

(h) provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting services for computer software and hardware for the Office and departmental systems;

(i) provide technical support for the Office’s events and functions, including online events;

(j) provide support for any initiatives of the University; and

(k) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;

(b) have at least five years of relevant experience in IT field, preferably gained in tertiary institutions, with some experience in implementing IT systems, related integrations and system development;

(c) have solid experience in the System Development Life Cycle, from user requirements/design to system rollout and maintenance;

(d) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(e) be able to develop quick solutions using Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Power Platform and other available tools/platforms in the University;

(f) be a good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong self-motivation, and the ability to work independently;

(g) be proactive and able to work under pressure and meet tight schedules; and

(h) have good computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft 365, Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android and Windows Server.

Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of and solid experience in Microsoft Forms, Power Platform, OneDrive and/or SharePoint Administration. Applicants are required to indicate their skill sets in the CV.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to give a brief presentation/demonstration on his/her previous work experience in handling system development.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
