MAINLAND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

Assistant Executive Officer (Temporary Appointment) (Ref. 260410002)
[Appointment period: twelve months]

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) assist in planning and implementing projects and schemes to promote the development of the University in the Chinese Mainland;

(b) provide secretarial support and assistance to the Head of Unit;

(d) liaise with partners in the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong for networking and facilitation of programme/project execution;

(e) assist the Head of Unit in soliciting donations from alumni in the Chinese Mainland;

(f) assist the Head of Unit in organising events to enhance PolyU’s presence in the Chinese Mainland;

(g) assist in the production of marketing materials and the publicity initiatives through media;

(h) assist in departmental office administration; and

(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Mainland Development or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and travel outside Hong Kong for the purposes of attending meetings and providing support to projects/activities/events.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree plus at least three years’ relevant post-qualification administrative experience;

(b) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is a must;

(d) be well-organised and attentive to details; and

(e) be a good team player and be able to work independently and proactively.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.
