VENDOR OPERATION DIRECTOR / VICE PRESIDENT - US MNC toys buying office (HK/China/SE Asia)

Role Summary

Lead comprehensive vendor operations across Asia, overseeing strategic vendor relationships, performance management, and production coordination to ensure manufacturing efficiency and on-time delivery.
Develop vendor-focused production strategies, optimize capacity utilization across partner factories, lead cross-functional vendor teams, and drive operational excellence in supply chain execution.

Position Overview

This senior leadership role directs end-to-end vendor management operations across Asian manufacturing sites, primarily based in the Shenzhen office.
You will ensure manufacturing partners consistently deliver exceptional quality on time at optimal cost through robust vendor performance frameworks, strategic factory partnerships, and high-performing vendor operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop vendor-centric production control strategies ensuring on-time shipments and optimal factory capacity utilization.
Design and enhance vendor management systems for real-time reporting, compliance auditing, performance grading, and corrective action tracking.
Lead internal/external vendor operations teams across Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Vietnam, and production sites.
Implement advanced vendor capacity forecasting, planning, and monitoring systems.
Independently resolve vendor-related production issues (labor shortages, process delays, capacity constraints).
Drive vendor performance initiatives to exceed shipment targets while maintaining comprehensive production records.
Identify vendor/supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead negotiations with third-party inspection/auditing firms to secure dedicated factory audit resources across China, Vietnam, and SE Asia.
Conduct regular senior-level vendor reviews to optimize terms, performance KPIs, and strategic partnerships.
Build vendor management frameworks with performance scorecards, evaluations, and continuous improvement measures.
Oversee factory monitoring with vendor teams to ensure real-time issue reporting and full contract compliance.

Ideal Candidates

Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
10+ years in vendor management operations, production control, or equivalent; 5+ years toys industry essential.
US toy company experience highly advantageous.
Expert in global toy manufacturing, factory auditing, and vendor performance systems.
Proven success negotiating with third-party inspection/auditing organizations.
Frequent Shenzhen office presence required; occasional travel to Vietnam/SE Asia.

Terms & Benefits

Five-day work week.
13 months' salary + performance bonus.
