About Our Client:

Our client is a leading global provider of electro-mechanical and electronic components. In response to business growth, they are seeking a Systems Architecture & Software Engineering Manager to lead a new team focused on developing and delivering digital solutions for touch screens and IoT in major home appliances, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes for effective mass production.

Job Responsibilities:

System Architecture and Development Roadmap

Operating System and GUI Ownership: Design and implement robust software stacks utilizing Embedded Linux and high-performance GUI frameworks.
Co-Design of Hardware and Software: Lead the selection of MPUs to ensure hardware capabilities meet the demands of high-resolution 3D rendering and HD video for appliance UIM roadmaps.
Connectivity and Security Compliance: Manage IoT ecosystems (e.g., Matter and Wi-Fi 6) and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards necessary for European markets.

New Product Introduction and Product Lifecycle Integration

Infrastructure Specification: Establish technical specifications for factory "Burning Stations" and server architecture to facilitate high-speed imaging and secure key injection procedures.
Software Design for Manufacturing/Testing: Incorporate diagnostics in the codebase to enable automated factory functional testing and display calibration.
Software Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the software BoM, ensuring that production batches are linked to a verified master copy.

Leadership and Team Development

Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and lead a new team of software engineers to support comprehensive digital solution offerings.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the lead product engineer, translating customer requirements into technically feasible and cost-effective ODM designs.
Agile Implementation: Introduce Agile and Scrum methodologies to align software development sprints with hardware production phases (EVT/DVT/PVT).
Technical Expertise: Act as the principal technical liaison for overseas key accounts, converting technical user requirements into actionable tasks for the team.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
At least 8 years of experience in software/ system architecture/ electronics product development.
Proven people management skills, or team management experience.
Proven experience collaborating with international clients, effectively transposing technical details into actionable chunks.
Background in V-design and agile methodologies is essential. Experience with qualification standards such as A-SPICE and appliance safety/energy efficiency regulations is highly advantageous.
Fluent in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Software Expertise:

Proficient in Embedded OS, particularly Yocto, as well as MPU-based systems; familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) is preferred.
Experience in delivering products with high-resolution touch interfaces (Qt preferred), as well as handling video/ high-resolution 3D renderings.
Knowledge in the design and application of wireless stacks and a solid understanding of relevant protocols.
Experience in secure boot processes/ encryption/ certificate management.
Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) processes, particularly in design for testing (DFT).
