The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for the provision of desirable services for students of the University and enhancing their learning experience. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to fostering whole-person development and a vibrant campus life of students.

Responsibilities

To plan and provide support for non-local degree-seeking students to help them adjust to and integrate into the university community and Hong Kong, thereby contributing to Hong Kong as an international education hub for post-secondary education and in line with the “Study in Hong Kong” brand
To develop individual programmes and campus-wide events to promote mutual respect, understanding, and integration among students from different cultural backgrounds, and to promote internationalisation at home of Lingnan University
To maintain close relationships with all non-local student groups and societies, understanding their needs and concerns, and providing guidance and support in running student-led activities
To plan and manage cross-cultural campus events, such as the Cultural Ambassador Programme and the Host Family Scheme, as well as various festival celebrations, to promote integration of different cultures on campus
To administer programmes relating to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), student advising services, and other student development or educational programmes
To assist with office-wide duties such as New Student Orientation, the STEM Summer Academy, and Sports Day
To provide support to some university committees or working groups as and when necessary
To perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

Requirements

A recognised bachelor’s degree in global affairs, public administration, cultural studies or relevant disciplines
At least 8 years’ post-qualification work experience, with at least 3 years at executive level, preferably with tertiary institutions or sizeable organisations
A sound knowledge about the needs and concerns of non-local students
A solid and proven experience in managing student activities
A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
A high level of IT competence
An excellent mastery of logical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, communication, coordination, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
A high calibre to carry out duties independently, and work under tight timelines with a positive attitude

Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
