Collection Operation Assistant (1-Year Government Contract)

Job Responsibilities:

To assistant in the daily operation of the collection management sub-unit (CM Sub-unit);
To manage the collection stores on-site and off-site, e.g. tidy up and house-keep the storage, check storage facilities, monitor and take record photos of repairs and maintenance works provided by other parties;
To assist in the relocation exercise of collection stores or premises;
To stocktake and surprise inspection of collections, eg. retrieve, handle and move, return and shelving of museum collections heavy or tiny;
To handover museum collections between CM Sub-unit and other parties;
To prepare or check data in the Museum Collection Management System (MCMS);
To prepare object lists, labels and packing materials, record and updates object information;
To check inventory of CM Sub-unit;
To handle other clerical tasks, e.g.photocopying, scanning, printing, binding and/or delivery of documents, venus setting for daily operation;

Requirements

A Bachelor Degree Holder (Any discipline);
At least one year working experience preferably. Experience in warehouse and logistics management, stock keeping or data preparation, handling artefacts, record management in museum or cultural institutions of LCSD is an advantage;
Proficient both in written and spoken Chinese and English;
Proficient in MS Office applications in particular for Word and Excel;
Good knowledge in Chinese word processing;

About the job

Contract Period: 1 year contract (Renewable)
Salary per hour: HKD110 - 120 per hour
Working time: Normally 0900-1748 hours (5-day work / Working overtime or on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays may be required)
Working Location: Major in Hong Kong Museum of History (HKMH) and other premises upon the request of HKMH
