About the Role
The Financial Services practice delivers forward-looking credit insights on banks, insurers, and other financial institutions — assessing capital strength, funding and liquidity, asset quality, governance, and operating environments to inform rating opinions that markets rely on. The practice supports stakeholders in understanding how evolving risks — from regulation and macro shifts to digital assets and decentralized finance — can affect financial stability and credit performance.
The team is part of S&P Global Ratings' global analyst community of more than 1,400 analysts across key financial hubs worldwide, dedicated to delivering high-quality insights and exceptional client service across all industry sectors.

Responsibilities
Team Contribution & Capability Building
- Guide and coach Research Assistants and Rating Analysts in credit analysis, data discipline, and analytical tooling; create reusable assets and propose automation improvements that free capacity for higher-value human analysis.
Core Analytical & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end credit analysis and surveillance for assigned financial institutions, synthesizing portfolio performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-useful insights with clear implications for risk.
- Prepare and review analytical inputs and key outputs, reconciling metrics and documenting assumptions to ensure adherence to methodology, sector frameworks, and evidentiary standards.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Translate complex data and analysis into clear, client-ready narratives; advise on analytical issues within defined parameters, communicating S&P Global's expertise to drive engagement with market participants.
Risk Management and Operating
- Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and data governance, escalating issues early with recommendations; embed responsible AI use — approved tools and data only — and contribute to the design, testing, and rollout of controlled automation workflows.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong credit, financial, and risk analysis skills, with the ability to link fundamental drivers to forward-looking views and risk appetite.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analysis into concise, evidence-based narratives for senior stakeholders and committees.
- Practical experience embedding AI, large language models, or automation agents into analytical workflows to improve productivity and insight.
- High standards for analytical quality, traceability, and governance, with sound judgment on the responsible use of AI in a controlled environment.
- English: Required — Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally). Korean: Required — Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally).
Preferred or Helpful Experience
- Experience in Korean insurance credit analysis, including a working understanding of Korean insurance markets, business environments, and relevant regulations.
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence through credibility and improve team consistency through shared standards and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to scalable automation and agentic workflows.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
Additional Information
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in financial services credit analysis, including insurance, banking, or other financial institutions.
- We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
