The Chief Administration Officer (CAO) is a visionary executive leader responsible for steering the enterprise’s institutional framework, corporate governance, and operational resilience. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CAO serves as a strategic advisor to the Board and executive suite, architecting long-term strategies across Governance, Corporate Affairs, Financial & Tech Infrastructure, and Human Resources. The CAO ensures that the company’s structural capabilities directly enable and protect its overarching business growth and market reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Governance & Legal Compliance Framework
- Formulate and champion the strong corporate governance framework through engagement of Board and oversight of Company Secretariat functions
- Direct the enterprise-wide legal compliance strategy and risk management posture to safeguard business continuity
- Establish high-level process management standards to institutionalize regulatory compliance across all business units
External Relations and Corporate Affairs
- Shape the company’s public positioning, brand narrative, and crisis communication strategies
- Provide executive communications and media relations to Board Chairman, CEO and leaders, in alignment with the corporate protocol
- Lead executive-level government relations and strategic stakeholder management to influence favourable regulatory environments
Corporate Services & Infrastructure Optimization
- Provide strategic oversight to Finance, IT, and Procurement, transforming shared services into competitive advantages
- Lead the formation and execution of financial management and capital management strategies to achieve business objectives
- Drive digital and AI transformation and data governance strategies to future-proof the business infrastructure
- Drive effective procurement policy and frameworks in support of the business
Strategic Organization & Human Resources Management
- Partner with the executive team to design and evolve the organizational structure to support business planning and future scaling up
- Champion manpower planning, talent acquisition strategies, compensation and benefits practices, training and development programmes, and the evolution of corporate culture
- Align human resources strategy with macro business objectives to drive high performance and staff retention
- Formulate scalable organization designs that transition smoothly from a lean startup model to a structured corporate entity
General Administration Excellence
- Lead office renovation, workplace services and facilities management, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality working environment
- Govern the consolidated corporate administrative budget, ensuring maximum ROI and operational synergy
Other Relevant Duties as Assigned by the CEO or the Board
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Business Administration, or Finance & Accounting, Public Administration from a renowned institution
- Minimum of 20+ years of progressive corporate experience, with at least 10 years in a senior executive capacity within a complex MNC, or a listed corporation, or public organizations. Prior experience at a senior management role gained from a public organization in the innovation and technology or property sector is highly preferred
- Proven track records and exposure in corporate pillars, balancing the governance/legal side with the business needs, such as human capital and shared services
- Ample experience reporting to or advising a Board of Directors and Functional Committees relating to Finance /Administration/ HR or Compliance related areas
- Good understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, modern corporate secretariat practices, and able interpret complex regulatory changes and proactively translate them into corporate wide priorities
- Demonstrated experience and skills in high-level government relations, regulatory lobbying, and managing multi-stakeholders
- Solid experience in promoting corporate branding, crisis communications, high level corporate events and media relations
- Prior experience overseeing budgeting, resources allocation, cost-benefits analysis, strategic procurement frameworks and digital deployment transformation initiatives such as system deployments and AI-driven process automation
- Highly skilled in architecting manpower planning, organizational structures and HR process to support business operations from scratch, and through business cycle to expansion
- Ample experience in architecting the employer branding and talent acquisition framework to attract high-caliber founding teams and mission-driven executives
