Head of Human Resources - international bank

On behalf of a medium sized international bank, we are seeking a Head of Human Resources to cover their Hong Kong and China offices, approximately 100 people in total.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for all HR functions, including organisational development, talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, performance management, total rewards management, employee engagement, and HR operations.

Important points to note:

You must have experience as a senior HR professional in financial services
Fluency in both English and Cantonese is required. Mandarin would be an advantage.
Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and, preferably, experience dealing with regulators.
Experience with change management, particularly in regard to HRIS, is strongly preferred.
Base Salary up to HKD 105,000 per month (depending upon experience) plus bonus plus benefits.

Role:

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will lead and manage the full spectrum of HR functions for the bank including organizational development, talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, performance management, total rewards management, employee engagement, and HR operations
Work closely with the group Chief Human Resources Officer and support the implementation of Group-approved initiatives.
Drive HR transformation initiatives and continuous improvement across the business
Strengthen employer branding to position the organization as an employer of choice
Ensure strong HR governance and regulatory compliance by maintaining effective internal controls and delivering accurate, timely compliance reporting to leadership and regulators
Take ownership of salary structures, pay policies, and oversee the variable pay systems within the bank.
Design and update the succession plans for key critical positions coupled with talent development programs for all high performing and high potential staff
Drive achievement of HR-related ESG goals by embedding sustainable people practices, advancing DEI, and ensuring transparent tracking and reporting of progress

Requirements:

15+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, from within financial services.
Experience in managing diverse HR functions within a complex organization and in partnering with senior business leaders.
Excellent knowledge of local HR statutory, labour, tax & related laws.
Ability to drive organisational change and transformation and balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
Professional membership in human resources and / or HKIB ECF certification would be very well regarded.
Experience with HR digital transformation and HRIS systems.
Fluent in spoken English and Cantonese
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business or related disciplines.
