Role Description

The Assistant Manager, Compliance is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance standards. This role works closely with business units and management teams to promote a strong compliance culture and ensure that operational activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Key responsibilities include assisting in compliance risk assessments, monitoring regulatory developments, conducting compliance reviews, and supporting the implementation of internal controls. The role is responsible for identifying potential compliance risks, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring that compliance issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

The Assistant Manager, Compliance supports the preparation of compliance reports, regulatory submissions, and management updates, while maintaining accurate documentation and records. The role also contributes to policy development, compliance training initiatives, and awareness programs to strengthen employee understanding of regulatory obligations and ethical business practices.

In addition, the position collaborates with internal stakeholders, auditors, legal teams, and external regulatory bodies to support compliance monitoring activities, investigations, and governance initiatives. The role plays a key part in maintaining a robust compliance environment and supporting continuous improvement of compliance processes and controls.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory requirements, corporate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.

Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations.

Experience in compliance monitoring, risk assessment, policy implementation, audit support, and regulatory reporting within a corporate or regulated environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify compliance risks and recommend practical and effective solutions.

A degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related discipline is typically required.

Professional qualifications or certifications in Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, Governance, or related fields are highly desirable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the organization.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with compliance management systems, risk assessment tools, and regulatory reporting processes is advantageous.
