Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 11 ($28,225 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 14 ($33,405 per month)
Entry Requirements:Candidates should have (a) (i) obtained a Craft Certificate in electronics engineering or information technology from a Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent plus 5 years’ relevant experience; or (ii) completed a recognized Technician Trainee programme in electronics engineering/information technology field plus 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience; and (b) attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Secondary 3 standard; and (c) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test.
[Note: Candidates will be required to pass a trade test. Preference may be given to candidates who (i) possess a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship issued by the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship; or (ii) have acquired recognized safety supervisor training. Candidates with relevant experience in the information technology field should include operation, troubleshooting and support in information technology infrastructure or computer servers (including operating system and hardware).]

Duties: (i) A Senior Radio Mechanic is mainly deployed on undertaking installation, testing and servicing of radio/electronics and associated equipment, information and communications technology equipment and systems, and audio visual equipment including computer control and medical electronics equipment; and supervising and performing the role of job leader for frontline technical staff.
(ii) Successful candidates may be posted to other departments and may be required to (a) perform shift duties/emergency duties/stand-by duties/on-call duties and work irregular hours; (b) work in remote areas or harsh conditions; (c) drive a departmental vehicle under the self-drive scheme; (d) wear uniform/protective clothing; and (e) carry pager/mobile phone.
Terms of Appointment:A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service agreement terms for three years, and may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms upon satisfactory completion of agreement.
