Key Responsibilities:

To assist teachers in planning, trying out and conducting science experiments and relevant demonstrations, as well as other science-related activities
To prepare, update and manage science-related materials and resources, including maintaining a precise inventory of all chemicals and reagents
To maintain a precise chemical inventory and oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemical waste
To assist teachers in assessing students’ performance in science-related activities, including the smooth implementation of school-based assessments
To prepare, construct, operate and maintain laboratory apparatus and equipment, and to conduct routine laboratory tests
To purchase laboratory apparatus, equipment, chemicals and other items necessary for the laboratories
To be responsible for the maintenance of science-related facilities
To be responsible for all the normal safeguards in laboratories, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemical waste according to safety protocols.
To provide support and advice on the promotion and monitoring of laboratory safety

Requirements:

Degree in Science, with a major in Chemistry or Biology or a related field preferred
Holder of Certificate for Laboratory Technicians is an advantage; interested candidates without such qualification will be considered for the position of Laboratory Technician III
Demonstrable knowledge of chemical safety protocols and hazardous material handling
Experience in preparing Chemistry experiments is an advantage
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
Good communication, interpersonal skills, team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both teaching and support staff
