CAMPUS FACILITIES AND SUSTAINABILITY OFFICE

Assistant Director of Campus Facilities and Sustainability (Ref. 260612006-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be the Section Head of the Client Services Section and will be required to:

(a) lead a team of managerial/professional/technical staff in Client Services Section to provide safe, quality and one-stop client-focused facilities management services to the University;

(b) advocate and cultivate a customer-oriented culture amongst staff at all levels to provide one-stop client-focused facilities management services to the University;

(c) assist in setting strategic departmental objectives and goals, arrange efficient deployment of resources to meet these goals and support the University in implementing its strategic plans;

(d) plan, co-ordinate and supervise the provision of cost-effective daily operation, minor repair and maintenance, cleaning, security, event management, landscaping, car park management, crisis management, pest control and removal services to meet the needs of the University;

(e) chair meetings with departmental co-ordinators to solicit feedback on facilities management services and formulate strategic directions for continuous improvement;

(f) co-ordinate with Campus Development Office to facilitate smooth takeover of newly renovated spaces and new buildings; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree/higher degree in Facilities Management, Property Management or a related discipline;

(b) a relevant professional qualification such as MHKIS, MRICS, MHKIH, etc., and a good knowledge of relevant statutory regulations;

(d) extensive experience in managing and formulating policies and strategies, as well as implementing changes with significant impacts;

(e) proven leadership experience in developing and managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and technical staff in collaboration with clients, service contractors and other stakeholders;

(f) demonstrated ability to undertake the coordination role of a project management team for alteration and improvement works, as well as asset maintenance works;

(g) highly refined communication skills for working with both internal and external stakeholders; and

(h) an analytical mind with strong planning and organising abilities, as well as people management and problem-solving skills.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
