THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG

The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) is a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution leading the development of CM in Hong Kong. Controlled by the Health Bureau and operated under a public-private partnership model, CMHHK was financed by the HKSAR Government, which selected Hong Kong Baptist University as the contractor through tendering procedures in 2021. HKBU incorporated the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator to manage, operate and maintain the hospital.

Since commencing phased services in December 2025, CMHHK offers comprehensive CM care ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promotes advanced and specialised CM treatments. As a pioneer in integrated Chinese-western medicine (ICWM), CMHHK addresses diverse patient needs through inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and community-based services. With 65% of services government-subsidised and the remainder market-oriented, the hospital ensures accessible healthcare while meeting the diverse needs of the community.

With a strong commitment to education, training, innovation and research—including collaboration with local and overseas universities to advance evidence-based clinical studies and develop CM theories and clinical applications—CMHHK is now looking for the following talent to join our team.

Senior Project Fellow (26049)

Responsibilities:

Lead a research administration team as the Central Administrator of the International Consortium of Herb Drug Interaction (ICHDI);
Oversee, supervise and monitor the implementation and operation of the ICHDI and Hong Kong platform;
Devise a systematic administration mechanism for consolidating, evaluating and cross-validating relevant scientific results and findings, and related documents and information contributed by the member organisations of ICHDI and Hong Kong platform;
Engage and maintain close liaison with the member organisations of ICHDI and Hong Kong platform by hosting regular meetings and report the collaboration progress to relevant bodies;
Set up long-term plan for promoting sustainable development, updating, dissemination and implementation of herb-drug interaction (HDI) clinical practice guideline (CPG) locally and internationally;
Design and conduct training curricula and workshops on HDI CPG for clinicians and researchers locally and internationally;
Manage and oversee the ICHDI initiatives including international meetings, workshops, conferences and seminars to disseminate research findings and engage with global stakeholders;
Host and organise the inauguration of the ICHDI and annual conference for HDI;
Monitor the project progress and the completion of the deliverables amongst member organisations;
Prepare and review documentation including meeting papers and reports;
Cultivate collaborative research and grant proposal application related to HDI amongst member organisations; and
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

A PhD in Chinese Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline;
A minimum of 7 years of experience in research administration, clinical research coordination, or management of multi‑institutional or consortium‑level projects (experience in tertiary institutions or hospital setting is an advantage);
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships in academic or clinical environments;
Strong project management skills, including monitoring international deliverables, timelines, risk management, and rigorous reporting requirements;
Experience in developing or implementing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs), clinical protocols, or healthcare standardisation initiatives;
Proven capability in organising and managing high‑level international conferences, workshops, and inauguration ceremonies;
Experience in cultivating collaborative research and supporting major competitive grant applications (e.g. RGC, HMRF, or international funding bodies);
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with the political acumen to liaise with clinicians, researchers, institutions, and government or global partners;
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;
Ability to bridge international stakeholders and regional Chinese Medicine practitioners; and
Appointment will be on a fixed‑term contract of up to two to three years, with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Work location: The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O.
