THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG

The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) is a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution leading the development of CM in Hong Kong. Controlled by the Health Bureau and operated under a public-private partnership model, CMHHK was financed by the HKSAR Government, which selected Hong Kong Baptist University as the contractor through tendering procedures in 2021. HKBU incorporated the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator to manage, operate and maintain the hospital.

Since commencing phased services in December 2025, CMHHK offers comprehensive CM care ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promotes advanced and specialised CM treatments. As a pioneer in integrated Chinese-western medicine (ICWM), CMHHK addresses diverse patient needs through inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and community-based services. With 65% of services government-subsidised and the remainder market-oriented, the hospital ensures accessible healthcare while meeting the diverse needs of the community.

With a strong commitment to education, training, innovation and research—including collaboration with local and overseas universities to advance evidence-based clinical studies and develop CM theories and clinical applications—CMHHK is now looking for the following talent to join our team.

Senior Chinese Medicine Officer (26045)

Responsibilities:

To provide professional support to CMHPO for the CMHHK Project;
To assist in coordinating the development of clinical governance on CM;
To provide inputs on development of CM related hospital management system;
To liaise and coordinate with members of project governance to formulate user requirements of furniture and equipment items and Information Technology systems from CM clinical service operation and CM pharmacy perspective including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, allied health and pharmacy services;
To assist in networking with CM service providers and development of patient referrals and transfer mechanism; and
To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Requirements:

Possess a Bachelor or post-graduate degree in Chinese Medicine;
Be a registered Chinese medicine practitioner of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong for at least eight years;
Have at least eight years of experience in CM industry in Hong Kong with exposure in clinical and/or administration field; and
Meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (“HKCEE”) or the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (“HKDSEE”), or equivalent.
Experience in the planning, organisation or management of CM services and/or facilities would be a definite advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointment will be on a fixed‑term contract of up to 12-month contract period.
