Senior Strategic Planning Manager - Strategy & Transformation Office

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, this high-impact position is responsible for leading and supporting key strategic initiatives across the Group, driving growth, enhancing competitive advantage, and fostering innovation. They will work closely with senior leadership and business units to identify opportunities, develop actionable strategies, and oversee their execution within the evolving financial services landscape.

Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the formulation, articulation, and refinement of the Group's overall corporate strategy, long-term vision, and strategic priorities in close collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer
Actively support and guide Business and Support units in the development of their comprehensive 3-year strategic plans, ensuring alignment with Group objectives and market realities
Perform in-depth research and analysis of the global and regional financial services industry, market trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements (e.g., FinTech, AI, blockchain)
Identify emerging opportunities and potential threats/risks to BEA's business model and market position
Lead and manage strategic projects and initiatives from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with Group objectives and timely delivery
Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders across various business lines and support functions (e.g., Digital Banking, Risk, IT, Finance)
Support the identification, evaluation, and due diligence of potential M&A targets, strategic alliances, and partnership opportunities that align with BEA's growth strategy
Assist in the development of integration plans for successful post-acquisition outcomes
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, reports, and strategic recommendations to the Chief Strategy Officer, senior management, the Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders
Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external partners to gather insights and facilitate strategic alignment
Act as a thought partner and advisor to business leaders on strategic matters

Requirements

Bachelor’s or preferably a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field from a reputable institution
Minimum of 6-8 years of working experience and at least 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting (preferably with a focus on financial services), or business development within a leading financial institution
Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex strategic projects
Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of retail banking, corporate banking, wealth management, and digital banking trends
Exceptional ability to think critically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative, data-driven solutions aligned with the Group's vision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior executives. Experience in facilitating strategic planning processes across diverse business units is highly desirable
Exceptional leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to not only influence stakeholders at all levels but also to effectively lead, motivate, coach, and develop a small team
Robust understanding of business drivers, financial performance, and market dynamics
Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly advantageous
