SALES MANAGER (30K-40K + commission) – food & food ingredients wholesaler (Kwai Fong)

COMPANY OVERVIEW :

A long‑established food ingredients group with over 50 years of history and rooted in strong product expertise.
The core business is wholesale of food ingredients, with a strong focus on spices, herbs, vinegar, grains, nuts, seeds, olive oil, sesame oil...etc for professional kitchens.
The company operates a food processing factory in Hong Kong to ensure product freshness, consistency and food safety.
Key customers include hotels, restaurants, bars and catering groups, including a number of Michelin‑starred and high‑end dining clients.

ROLE SUMMARY :

You will provide professional service to key customers and proactively develop new HORECA customers.
The role focuses on developing and managing key customers in the HORECA and food service sector, driving sales of food ingredients in Hong Kong market.
This position combines new business development with strategic account management, working closely with a dedicated team of three Customer Service colleagues to deliver tailored ingredient solutions and a seamless customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Build, manage and grow key customers in the hotel, restaurant, bar and catering segments, including premium and Michelin‑level clients.
Identify new business opportunities, prepare proposals and quotations, and negotiate pricing and terms to achieve sales targets and margin objectives.
Work closely with the factory and quality team to understand product specifications, grinding capabilities and lead times, ensuring that customer requirements are clearly communicated and fulfilled.
Maintain regular contact with chefs, F&B managers, purchasing teams and distributors, providing product training, tasting sessions and technical support where needed.
Collaborate with three Customer Service colleagues to ensure efficient order handling, timely responses to enquiries and professional follow‑up on customer requests and issues.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to recommend new product ideas, packaging formats and service improvements.
Prepare sales reports, forecasts and account plans, ensuring accurate and timely information for management review and planning.

IDEAL CANDIDATES :

Tertiary educated preferably in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
Solid sales or client management experience, ideally 5+ years, in food or food ingredients, F&B supply, HORECA distribution or related B2B sectors.
Strong network or proven track record with hotels, restaurant groups, bars or caterers.
Passion for food and food ingredients, with the ability to discuss flavour profiles, applications and usage with professional chefs and buyers.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills; confident in dealing with senior decision‑makers.
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; knowledge of additional Asian languages is an advantage.
Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and comfortable working independently with regular customer visits and occasional irregular hours to meet F&B clients.
