Role Overview

The Editor-in-Chief serves as the creative and strategic force behind Tatler Hong Kong's content ecosystem. This key leadership role directs the narrative and strategic approach across various platforms, including print, digital, and social media. We seek a visionary storyteller and an innovative leader who can shape a contemporary media brand that resonates with Hong Kong’s elite demographic.

Close collaboration with the commercial team will be crucial for developing high-quality branded content and cultivating valuable client relationships, driving new revenue streams beyond traditional advertising.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Innovation

Lead the editorial team to craft and implement a cohesive content strategy focused on digital and social media innovation, video storytelling, and community engagement.
Integrate AI tools into the content workflow to streamline curation, automate production tasks, analyze performance data, and enhance audience experience.
Develop and manage a dynamic content calendar that maintains a compelling brand voice in alignment with core values.
Collaborate with editorial leaders across Tatler markets to create an efficient content syndication pipeline.

Community Building & Engagement

Design and execute a comprehensive strategy to develop a vibrant Tatler community, both online and offline.
Engage with influencers, KOLs, and industry leaders to amplify content reach and enhance brand credibility.
Partner with marketing to leverage analytics for SEO optimization and to boost audience engagement.

Commercial Collaboration & Growth

Work with the commercial team to create innovative branded content solutions that deliver exceptional client value.
Engage in client pitches to present creative insights and represent the editorial vision.
Explore new monetization models in collaboration with leadership and sales teams, focusing on affiliate commerce, bespoke content, and premium memberships.
Oversee content-related aspects of events to ensure a seamless brand experience.

Leadership & Management

Foster a culture of creativity and collaboration, promoting open communication and interdepartmental synergy.
Mentor an inspiring team of writers, editors, and creators, encouraging professional development.
Effectively manage the departmental budget, ensuring initiatives align with financial constraints and timing.
Set clear, measurable goals (SMART goals) for the team, regularly assessing performance and providing constructive feedback.

Requirements

Proven experience as a senior editorial leader within a recognized media organization, with a portfolio highlighting success in digital content creation and community development.
In-depth understanding of the Hong Kong luxury market and high-net-worth audiences.
Expertise in executing successful strategies leading to audience growth.
Forward-thinking approach to media innovation with practical knowledge of AI tools to enhance editorial processes.
Established network within influential communities in Hong Kong, demonstrable ability to build a strong KOL network.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills for inspiring teams and representing the Tatler brand.
Collaborative mindset with experience in working with international teams toward shared content goals.
Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on achieving ambitious objectives.
