We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology (S&T):

Assistant Lecturer (S&T) (Ref: 26000A7)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

Undertaking teaching and academic duties (including classroom / laboratory / field-based teaching);
Marking of assignments, tests and examinations;
Providing academic support and performing teaching-related and administrative duties;
Coordinating research and scholarly activities, seminars, projects, workshops and visits at all levels;
Assisting in programme / course planning and development as well as participating in School / University activities; and
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School Science & Technology or his / her nominee(s).

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

Higher degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline;
Relevant teaching / academic support / professional experience in tertiary institutions is preferred;
Strong sense of responsibility, effective organization and excellent interpersonal skills;
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently under pressure; and
A good command of English and Chinese, with priority given to those who are fluent in Putonghua.

Candidates with lower qualifications may be considered for the post of Teaching Assistant.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
