PURCHASING MANAGER - Food & Beverage casual dining restaurant chain (Kwai Fong/5 days work)

Role Summary & Mission

Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead a small team (2 Purchasing Officers) and take ownership of the group’s end‑to‑end procurement activities for both food and non‑food items.
The mission of this role is to drive strategic improvements in purchasing – including workflow optimisation, supplier and product quality enhancement, cost efficiency and process digitalisation – to support sustainable growth across all restaurants.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to support business growth, cost optimisation and quality standards.
Oversee day‑to‑day procurement operations for food and non‑food items, including sourcing, purchase orders and replenishment ordering for 30+ outlets.
Lead, coach and develop 2 Purchasing Officers, building a high‑performing, service‑oriented and continuously improving purchasing team.
Partner with R&D and Marketing teams to identify, source and launch new products (both food and non‑food) that enhance the menu and guest experience.
Act as a strategic business partner to the COO and operations team, providing insights on cost trends, supplier risks and opportunities to support long‑term growth.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement workflows, data accuracy and supplier performance, using KPIs and analytics to identify and implement enhancements in quality, efficiency and control.
Independently liaise and negotiate with overseas and local suppliers to secure competitive prices, favourable terms and reliable supply.
Review and enhance purchasing policies, procedures and controls, streamline workflows and promote automation and digitalisation of procurement processes.
Prepare procurement and cost analysis reports, provide recommendations to management, and perform ad‑hoc projects as assigned by the COO.

Ideal Candidates

Degree holder preferably in Purchasing / Procurement / Supply Chain Management / Business Management or related disciplines.
Around 10 years’ solid experience in the F&B industry (candidates with less experience but strong potential will also be considered).
Experience in casual dining or multi‑brand restaurant chains is highly preferred.
Strategic mindset with a strong sense of continuous improvement and the ability to balance “big picture” thinking with day‑to‑day execution.
Strong business acumen with hands‑on experience across end‑to‑end procurement operations (food and non‑food) for multi‑outlet operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels and external partners.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with a proven track record in cost savings and supplier performance improvement.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Chinese word processing.
Experience or knowledge in procurement / ERP systems such as SAGE will be a strong advantage.
Experience in overseas sourcing and exposure to regional or international suppliers will be a plus.
