Job Title: Associate Director, Human Resources

Role Summary:
The Associate Director, Human Resources is a strategic leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide talent acquisition and development programs that attract, develop, retain, and engage top talent. This position partners closely with senior leadership and HR Business Partners to align talent strategies with business objectives, drive succession planning, and leadership development programs, that anticipate future workforce needs and enable sustainable organizational success.
The ideal leader will lead a small team and champion change management, inspire innovation, and create lasting impact across every level of the organization.
This role is based in Hong Kong with frequent travel to Asia and Europe Regions.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
- Develop and execute a strategic talent acquisition roadmap that aligns with the company’s long-term growth and transformation objectives.
- Partner closely with senior executives to advise on leadership capability gaps, talent readiness, and workforce planning strategies.
- Own full life‑cycle recruitment for senior or critical roles, including sourcing, screening, selection, offer negotiation, and closing.
- Build and maintain robust talent pipelines using multiple channels (direct sourcing, referrals, agencies, social media, job boards, campus, etc.)
- Strengthen employer branding and candidate experience, ensuring a consistent, inclusive, and professional process for all candidates.
- Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, search firms, and other vendors, including performance and cost management.
Talent Management and Learning & Development
- Lead the design and execution of comprehensive talent management frameworks, including succession planning, high-potential (HiPo) identification and development, and leadership development.
- Lead the design and delivery of learning and development programs that strengthen leadership, managerial, and future-oriented capabilities.
- Identify and assess critical roles, competencies, and future skill sets required for business sustainability and innovation.
- Develop and deliver leadership development programs (e.g., emerging leader programs, executive coaching, 360-feedback processes, and customized learning journeys).
- Curate and deploy best-in-class learning solutions (internal academies, external partnerships, digital learning platforms).
- Establish and track key talent metrics and KPIs (e.g., internal fill rate, promotion rate, retention of high-performers, leadership pipeline strength) and present insights to the executive team.
- Oversee the annual talent review and succession planning process; facilitate calibration sessions with executive leadership and produce actionable insights and development plans.
- Manage relationships with external vendors (assessment tools, executive coaching firms, leadership program providers).
- Coach and develop a small team of talent management professionals.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management and organizational development.
- Build strong partnerships with external consultants, learning institutions, and technology providers to enhance internal development resources.
Qualifications and Experience
- 10–15+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 6–8 years focused specifically on talent acquisition, talent management, leadership development, succession planning, or organizational effectiveness in mid-to-large organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-wide talent programs that demonstrably improve leadership bench strength and business outcomes.
- Skilled in leading senior-level recruitment processes and leveraging multiple sourcing channels to attract top talent.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed, or global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to transform traditional HR and talent practices into agile, forward-looking systems.
- Strong track record in advising and influencing senior executives and leadership teams.
- Deep understanding of leadership development, succession management, and future skill frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
