Officer, Equities Settlement (Internal Job Title: Securities & Derivatives Analyst– C09-10) based in Hong Kong. The Securities & Derivative Analyst 1 is an entry level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Responsible for trade pre-matching / settlement in Global Markets, including APAC, Euroclear, DTC and major European markets;
- Liaise with agent banks, brokers, CGM sales and trading desk, customer's back office to follow up any potential fails prior to settlement date;
- Relay unmatched / settlement risk items to oversea offices and trading desks for resolution so as to avoid failure or buy-in;
- Issue adhoc manual instructions for exceptional items to our agent banks for global markets;
- Other operations process
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 1-4 years of settlement experience in global markets
- Relevant experience preferred
- Fundamental understanding of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies
- Proven ability to perform various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Effective communication skills and good written and spoken English
- Willing to learn and able to work under high pressure
- Good product knowledge in equity market and fixed income will be a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting or Finance
