Analyst - M&A Advisory

My client is one of the top foreign boutique investment banks in Hong Kong looking to add analysts to their business with focus on Greater China cross-border M&A.

Key Responsibilities

Support execution of M&A transactions from initial pitch through closing, assisting senior team members in managing multiple work streams under tight deadlines.
Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, merger models, and accretion/dilution analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all deliverables.
Perform valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and other methodologies to support strategic recommendations.
Prepare client presentations and pitch materials in English and Mandarin, ensuring clarity and professionalism for senior executives and stakeholders.
Assist in due diligence coordination, including managing data rooms and liaising with external advisers across financial, legal, and operational areas.
Conduct industry and company research, analyse market trends, and identify potential acquisition targets or buyers to support origination efforts.
Contribute to business development initiatives, including preparing marketing materials and supporting idea generation for new mandates.
Collaborate with team members, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Qualifications

Solid investment banking experience, ideally within an M&A product team or corporate finance environment.
Strong technical skills in financial modelling and valuation techniques, with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar platforms.
Fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese proficiency is a strong advantage for local client interaction.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; CFA or CPA is a plus.
