Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 13 ($31,795 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 16 ($36,850 per month)
Entry Requirements:Candidates should have (a) a Certificate in Construction or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; (b) at least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience; (c) met the language proficiency requirements of (i) Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (2)]; and (ii) Secondary 3 standard or above in Chinese Language, or equivalent; and (d) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) [See Note (4)].

1. All qualifications and working experience required should be obtained on or before the closing date for application.
2. For civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
3. May be required to perform emergency service duties and work outside normal office hours.
4. All applicants for civil service jobs will be assessed on their knowledge of the Basic Law and the National Security Law. A pass result in the BLNST is an entry requirement for all civil service jobs. Only those candidates who have passed the BLNST will be considered for appointment. Duties: A Works Supervisor I (Construction) is mainly deployed on (a) supervising minor staff and contractors; (b) supervising building maintenance and construction works for buildings under the Housing Authority’s purview; (c) taking more complicated measurements at sites; and (d) performing technical duties with more difficult nature.
Terms of Appointment:A new recruit will normally be appointed on a 3-year civil service agreement terms prior to consideration for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
