Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and production of Strategic Asset Allocation ("SAA") studies:
- Produce SAA recommendation for both in-force and new products based on AXA Group guideline, and performance analysis (including computing efficient frontiers of various SAA candidates) across multiple asset classes including fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments
- Understand the Dynamic Financial Analysis ("DFA") model process, and perform model runs for collecting inputs for the analysis. Perform holistic impact assessment of various SAA candidates across key ALM KPIs, including, but not limited to, solvency ratios, liquidity, and economic risk-adjusted returns and risk
- Consolidate the outputs and the SAA recommendation to communicate the results with various key stakeholders such as investment, finance, actuarial, and risk management teams.
Assist in various ALM and Monitoring processes based on Solvency II and Local Regulation (HK RBC) requirements:
- Conduct model runs and assess the outputs to analyse both asset and liability side for the management of duration and convexity gaps under both Solvency II and HKRBC.
- Quantify impacts to available capital and solvency under market stress scenarios (e.g. parallel interest rate curve shift) across various ALM positions (e.g. asset lengthening against liability).
- Support the ALM analysis pertaining to the quantification of impacts to various KPIs of investment solutions that involve the usage of derivatives.
Support key ALM & Investment Monitoring processes and assist in producing documentations for the Local Investment Committees and Board Meetings:
- Assist in strategic plan process and support the investment earnings forecast process including asset allocation trajectory, considering latest investment activities, economic scenarios, and group instructions.
- Work collaboratively with Pricing, Actuarial, and Risk teams on projects requiring stress test for solvency, earnings impacts, cash & liquidity impacts, etc., as well as on other ad-hoc requests from local regulator and Group.
Uphold Group and Local Governance process:
- Support the Group investment initiative(s) and activities.
- Ensure group standards / policies and internal control process are always respected.
Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates from actuarial background (e.g. students from SOA, IFOA, or any other prominent actuarial body, with working experience in ALM, Actuarial, Pricing, or Risk etc.); however, candidates from non-actuarial background who demonstrate strong work experience in and understanding of financial assets with an enthusiasm to understand the liabilities and liability-driven investments will also be considered.
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years working experience in investment or insurance areas with a major financial institution.
- Proficiency in Excel, VBA, and other MS Office tools is a must. Possessing technical competency in spreadsheet modeling and strong quantitative financial skills, including the use of financial information systems (e.g. Bloomberg), and having working experience in and understanding of DFA models (Prophet, MG ALFA, etc.) are strongly preferred.
- We are a small team and would prefer the individual to work with a certain level of autonomy with a mindset to support the team.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written, with excellent presentation skills.
