We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Data Science & AI Manager to lead our Data & AI Center of Excellence (CoE). Reporting to the Data Science and Management Director, you will oversee a talented team of five data science analysts and act as a core business partner. This role demands a proactive leader with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management, and a proven track record in delivering impactful data and AI solutions that support operational excellence and strategic business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of data science analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and results-driven delivery.
- Demonstrate strong leadership presence, proactively driving the adoption and integration of AI and Data solutions across the organization.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of high-impact Data & AI use cases, ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and strategic growth.
- Develop and implement scalable data pipelines, Data Marts, and data products on Azure Cloud and Databricks, leveraging Python, PySpark, and modern cloud tools.
- Lead the deployment of advanced machine learning models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI solutions (e.g., Document Understanding, Summarization, Retrieval-Augmented Generation) with a proven track record of successful use case implementations.
- Build and nurture strong data business partnerships by understanding business acumen, translating complex data insights into actionable strategies, and managing mature stakeholder relationships.
- Support organizational change by knowledge transfer, upskilling team members in AI/ML techniques, cloud engineering, and emerging technologies.
- Promote best practices in AI, cloud data engineering, and analytics, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of initiatives while maintaining operational excellence.
- Proactively identify new opportunities for data-driven automation and AI innovation that can create sustainable business value.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data science, AI, or machine learning, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proven ability to drive strategic AI use cases supporting operations and business needs, with a strong portfolio of successful LLM and GenAI deployments.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, Databricks, data pipeline development, and cloud data engineering.
- Strong expertise in building, deploying, and operationalizing machine learning models, especially LLMs, with a track record of delivering tangible business impact.
- Deep understanding of business processes, with the ability to act as a mature and trusted data business partner.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of managing complex relationships and influencing senior leadership.
- Strong leadership presence, with the ability to motivate, develop, and upskill teams effectively.
- Proactive, innovative, and self-driven, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate future needs and lead change initiatives.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
