What you’ll do

As Director of Executive Recruitment, you’ll play a key role in building Walmart International’s leadership bench across markets including China, India, and South Africa. Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Executive Recruitment for Walmart International, you’ll lead Vice President-level and above searches for critical areas of the business, serving as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, Talent Management, and People Partners on executive talent strategy and hiring decisions.

In this role, you’ll:

Partner directly with senior executives and business leaders on Vice President-level and above hiring needs.
Advise leaders on executive talent strategy, including internal succession, external market mapping, and long-term leadership planning.
Influence hiring decisions by providing market intelligence, talent insights, and calibrated executive assessment.
Collaborate closely with Talent Management and Succession Planning to build strong and diverse internal and external candidate slates.
Develop proactive executive talent pipelines and networking strategies for critical leadership roles and emerging capabilities.
Manage relationships with executive search partners, ensuring high-quality delivery, strong market calibration, and an exceptional candidate experience.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, operating with a high level of discretion, judgment, and executive presence.
Stay closely connected to the executive talent landscape, including executive talent movement, compensation trends, and emerging leadership talent.
Use data and insights to continuously improve executive search strategy, process, and outcomes.
Help evolve executive recruitment at Walmart by bringing innovative thinking, technology, and AI-driven solutions into the search process.

What you’ll bring

Significant experience leading executive searches in-house, within an executive search firm, or across both environments.
Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a complex, global organization.
Deep understanding of executive talent assessment, including leadership capability, influence, and long-term potential.
Experience partnering on succession planning and strategic leadership hiring decisions.
Strong judgment and discretion in navigating sensitive executive and organizational discussions.
A track record of delivering exceptional outcomes and building trusted relationships with senior leaders and executive candidates.
Strong market insight and the ability to advise leaders using data, talent intelligence, and a clear point of view.
A forward-thinking approach to executive recruitment, especially around technology, AI, and the future of talent.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving with pace, and driving results in a highly dynamic environment.
Ability to communicate professionally in both Mandarin and English

Travel

Traveling may be necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.

Occasionally travels internationally to and from multiple facilities or worksites requiring extended overnight stays.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field
Min. 12+ years of experience in full cycle recruiting. Experience in the retail/online or professional services industries is a plus
Experience using an Applicant Tracking System and Candidate Relationship Management System. Workday and Avature highly preferred
Experience sourcing candidates and using your network of contacts in the industry
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders
Capable to perform in fast paced environment
Foundational understanding of human resources and talent acquisition
Fluent English and Chinese
