Location: Flexible within APAC (Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, China)
The Financial Accountant – APAC is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of financial accounting and reporting across Sinclair’s APAC markets, with primary responsibility for markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and other APAC entities outside Korea, as required.
This is a hands-on regional finance role combining financial accounting, month-end close, consolidation, statutory and tax coordination, financial controls, management reporting and commercial finance support.
The role will work closely with the APAC Commercial Finance team and country commercial teams to provide accurate financial information, insightful analysis and robust reporting to support business performance and ensure the region delivers against its financial commitments.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple countries, currencies and legal entities within a fast-moving international medical aesthetics business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Month-End Close
Take ownership of financial accounting activities for the assigned APAC entities and ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
Responsibilities include:
* Own and coordinate the monthly financial close for assigned APAC entities.
* Prepare and/or review journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
* Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure appropriate supporting documentation.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items.
* Ensure appropriate accounting treatment and correct classification of revenue, costs, assets and liabilities.
* Review intercompany transactions and balances and ensure timely reconciliation and settlement.
* Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation and asset reconciliations.
* Review accounts receivable and accounts payable balances and follow up on aged or unusual items.
* Monitor inventory-related accounting where applicable, including inventory balances, provisions, write-offs and reconciliation with supply chain information.
* Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with Group accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.
* Maintain a strong and well-controlled financial close process.
APAC Consolidation & Regional Reporting
Support the consolidation of APAC financial results and ensure regional management receives accurate and timely financial information.
Key activities include:
* Consolidate financial results across the relevant APAC markets.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly APAC reporting packages.
* Ensure consistency and accuracy of country submissions.
* Reconcile local reporting to Group reporting systems.
* Review actual performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
* Identify unusual movements, accounting issues and material variances.
* Work with country teams to investigate and explain variances.
* Support APAC Commercial Finance in preparing regional financial performance reports.
* Ensure reporting deadlines and Group Finance requirements are consistently achieved.
Commercial Finance & Business Performance Support
Partner closely with the APAC Commercial Finance team to improve visibility of business performance and support delivery of regional financial commitments.
Revenue, Distributor & Customer Accounting
Given Sinclair’s combination of direct and distributor-led markets, provide appropriate financial oversight of commercial transactions.
This will include:
* Review revenue recognition and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
* Reconcile sales information between finance systems and commercial reporting.
* Monitor distributor-related financial transactions.
* Support reconciliation of distributor/customer balances.
* Review credit notes, rebates, discounts, commissions and other commercial adjustments.
* Support monitoring of accounts receivable and overdue customer balances.
* Work with commercial teams to resolve customer and distributor accounting issues.
* Support financial review of distributor arrangements where required.
* Ensure commercial arrangements are correctly reflected in financial reporting.
Statutory Accounting, Tax & Compliance
Coordinate local statutory and compliance requirements across assigned APAC entities.
The role is not expected to be the technical tax expert for every jurisdiction but should be capable of coordinating local advisers, understanding the requirements and ensuring that actions are completed accurately and on time.
Financial Controls & Governance
Maintain a strong control environment across the assigned APAC entities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensure compliance with Sinclair financial policies, approval authorities and internal controls.
* Maintain appropriate segregation of duties.
* Review unusual or high-risk financial transactions.
* Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
* Support implementation and improvement of financial controls.
* Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical solutions.
* Support internal and external audit requirements.
* Ensure audit findings and finance-related remediation actions are completed on time.
* Support compliance with Group policies covering expenditure, purchasing, payments, banking and financial approvals.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
Support effective management of cash and working capital across APAC.
Responsibilities include:
* Support preparation of cash-flow forecasts.
* Monitor accounts receivable and collection performance.
* Monitor accounts payable and payment requirements.
* Support working-capital analysis.
* Review aged receivables and coordinate actions with commercial teams.
* Support intercompany funding and settlement processes.
* Provide financial information to Treasury where required.
* Identify potential cash-flow or working-capital risks early and escalate appropriately.
*Liaise with Treasury, Group Finance and banks on relevant APAC requirements.
*Ensure banking and payment activities comply with Group policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Work closely with APAC Commercial Finance and business leaders during annual budget and periodic forecasting cycles.
Responsibilities include:
* Support preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
* Validate financial assumptions and ensure consistency with actual accounting information.
* Support country-level submissions.
* Consolidate regional financial information.
* Track actual performance against approved plans.
* Support preparation of rolling forecasts.
* Challenge inconsistencies and unexplained assumptions where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate financial models and supporting schedules.
Process Improvement & Finance Transformation
Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes across APAC.
The role will:
* Identify opportunities to simplify and standardise regional finance processes.
* Improve month-end close efficiency and reporting quality.
* Reduce manual reconciliations and unnecessary spreadsheets.
* Improve data quality and financial controls.
* Support ERP, reporting and finance-system improvements.
* Work effectively with Shared Services and Group Finance.
* Help establish consistent accounting practices across APAC entities.
* Document key processes and maintain appropriate finance procedures.
Qualifications
* Qualified or part-qualified accountant, or equivalent professional qualification, such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
* Strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
* Knowledge of IFRS and/or international accounting standards preferred.
Experience
* Approximately 5–8+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience, ideally within an international organisation.
* Experience managing accounting across multiple legal entities and/or countries.
* Strong hands-on month-end and year-end closing experience.
* Experience with balance-sheet reconciliation, intercompany accounting and consolidation.
* Experience supporting statutory audit and local tax/compliance activities.
* Exposure to management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
* Experience partnering with commercial finance or business teams.
* Experience working in a matrixed multinational environment.
* Healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical aesthetics or FMCG experience would be advantageous.
* Experience working with distributor-led business models would be particularly valuable.
Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems, together with Power BI or other business intelligence tools, would be advantageous.
Role Scope
This is not purely a bookkeeping or transactional accounting position.
The Financial Accountant – APAC will be expected to take end-to-end ownership of the financial integrity of the assigned APAC markets while acting as a strong finance partner to the regional commercial organisation.
The role requires someone who can move comfortably between detailed accounting, financial control, regional consolidation and commercial performance analysis — ensuring that Sinclair has reliable numbers, strong controls and clear visibility of whether APAC is delivering against its financial commitments.
