MUFG Securities in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Vice President Human Resources to join their regional team. What you'll do:
As Assistant Vice President Human Resources based in Hong Kong, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Human Resources by coordinating strategic objectives across four regional locations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with diverse teams to deliver transformation projects that enhance organisational effectiveness. You will prepare executive-level materials for senior stakeholders while maintaining oversight of budget planning and expense management. Building strong relationships with internal partners such as HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence is essential as you facilitate leadership meetings and follow up on critical actions. You will liaise with legal teams and control functions to implement employee relations policies that drive positive organisational change. In addition to leading digital HR transformation initiatives, you will ensure all projects are delivered efficiently while continuously improving processes through cross-functional collaboration. Your expertise in risk assessment will be vital as you oversee operational risk programs within the region—developing compliance repositories, proposing mitigation actions proactively, guiding Risk Control Self-Assessment activities, supporting business continuity management efforts, reviewing outsourcing risks, monitoring key risks, conducting internal audits/inspections related to GHRA operations—and acting as subject matter expert in regional HR risk management methodology. - Support the Head of Human Resources in developing and executing regional strategies that align with business priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Represent APAC HR in transformation projects by facilitating implementation, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and board materials that communicate complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage APAC Securities and Singapore Branch HR budget planning and expense management activities with precision.
- Develop exceptional stakeholder relationships both internally and externally to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Act as a central coordination point across HR teams and business units, fostering collaboration for global/regional projects, policies, systems, guidelines, and frameworks.
- Facilitate leadership meetings by preparing communications from the Head of HR to senior stakeholders and following up on action items.
- Build strong relationships with HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to support talent management, workforce planning, and culture-related projects.
- Liaise with legal, control functions, management, and relevant stakeholders on implementing regional employee relations policies and strategic organisational change initiatives.
- Lead or support digital HR transformation initiatives including operating model changes while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to overall strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes by managing cross-functional alignment with Finance, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments of new or changing global/regional HR policies before management approval; proactively propose risk mitigation actions.
- Oversee operational risk programs within the region by developing a repository of HR compliance regulations and monitoring key risks.
- Provide guidance for Risk Control Self-Assessment activities in partnership with various HR COEs and the second line of defence.
- Support all business continuity management activities within the GHRA function while overseeing outsourcing risks review within the function.
What you bring:
To excel as Assistant Vice President Human Resources in Hong Kong, your proven experience should include extensive exposure to regulated environments—preferably financial services—where you have managed large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders. Your interpersonal skills must be outstanding so you can build collaborative relationships across departments while supporting cross-functional alignment. Advanced communication abilities are essential for preparing executive-level presentations/reports/board materials that convey complex information clearly. You should possess deep knowledge of HR risk/compliance/governance frameworks along with strong analytical capabilities that enable quick identification/resolution of issues using a risk/control mindset. Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint/Excel is required for data analysis/reporting purposes while experience supporting budgeting/financial management activities adds value. Familiarity with industry trends/products/laws/regulations ensures ongoing compliance as you liaise regularly with legal/control functions/stakeholders regarding policy implementation/change initiatives. - Degree qualified with at least 7 years of relevant experience ideally gained within financial services or a regulated environment.

- Strong project management abilities demonstrated by successfully monitoring/managing multiple large regional projects on time/budget.
