About The Team
The Accounting Reporting and Tax team provides standardized, high-quality accounting and financial reporting support for Hong Kong legal entities, ensuring strict adherence to HKFRS standards, the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, and IRD statutory requirements. The team oversees general ledger governance, month-end/year-end closing, statutory reporting, group consolidation, and local financial compliance.
Work you'll do
Financial Governance & Policy Standardization
- Direct end-to-end finance operations for Hong Kong entities.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine standardized accounting policies and SOPs aligned with HKFRS, the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, and global group standards to ensure robust financial governance.
Financial Closing & Reporting Oversight
- Lead and supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles, including timetable design, full-set ledger reviews, balance sheet substantiation, P&L fluctuation analysis, and resolution of complex accounting issues.
- Ensure all closing activities are completed on time with high accuracy and no material misstatements.
Intercompany Reconciliation & Group Consolidation
- Oversee intercompany transaction accounting, cross-border reconciliations, and balance clearance between Hong Kong entities and group affiliates.
- Drive resolution of aged outstanding items and reconciling differences to guarantee consolidation accuracy and consistency.
Statutory & Management Reporting
- Review statutory financial statements and perform variance analysis.
- Translating financial data into actionable insights and regular reporting deliverables for regional leadership.
Tax Compliance & Coordination
- Support local profits tax compliance, including review of supporting data for tax computations and filings.
- Partner with internal tax team to ensure full adherence to IRD regulations and evolving statutory requirements.
Audit Leadership
- Lead annual and interim statutory audits, overseeing preparation of working papers and supporting documentation.
- Proactively resolve audit inquiries and ensure timely, issue-free audit completion with zero material findings.
Key Performance Deliverables
- A standardized, compliant, and sustainable financial governance framework and SOPs for Hong Kong entities.
- Timely and accurate closing cycles (monthly, quarterly, annually) with fully substantiated balances and zero material errors.
- HKFRS-compliant statutory reports meeting all local and group requirements.
- Fully reconciled intercompany accounts, ensuring clean and consistent group consolidation data.
- Audit-ready documentation supporting seamless and efficient statutory audit processes.
- Comprehensive financial analysis and reliable data to guide group consolidation.
- Enhanced operational efficiency and strengthened internal controls through ongoing process and risk improvements.

To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Finance related. Master's degree is a plus.
- HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience in the Hong Kong market.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role covering GL, closing, and financial reporting.
- Deep, current knowledge of HKFRS, Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, profits tax regulations, and local statutory compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience in group consolidation, intercompany reconciliation, and multi-entity reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling, pivot tables, data reconciliation); hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is mandatory.
- Knowledge of VBA, Power BI, Python etc. is a strong plus.
- Fluent in English in both oral and written.
- Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin for effective cross-regional and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership with the ability to independently manage end-to-end closing governance.
- Detail-oriented, ability to work under pressure, timely and accurate financial closing.
- Excellent multi-tasking, analytical problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
- Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience engaging regional leadership, external auditors, and consultants.
- Familiarity with Big 4 audit methodologies and the Hong Kong Big 4 financial operating model is a highly advantageous.
