RESEARCH AND INNOVATION OFFICE

Manager / Assistant Manager (Ref. 260625003-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) lead the planning and execution of initiatives to support the administration of the University Research Facilities (URFs), PolyU Academies, State Key Laboratories (SKLs) and Hong Kong Branches of Chinese National Engineering Research Centres (CNERCs), etc.;

(b) oversee the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and processes of research facilities;

(c) provide insights that improve work processes and facilitate system development to support the administration of the URFs and platforms;

(d) prepare regular reports and presentations summarising research information for management and stakeholders;

(e) provide secretarial and administrative support to related committees;

(f) co-ordinate and communicate with committees and research facilities both within PolyU community and externally;

(g) supervise a team and provide them with guidance and motivation; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree;

(b) have at least five years of solid administrative and supervisory experience, preferably in managing research facilities and platforms in higher education sector;

(d) possess positive attitude and good interpersonal skills;

(e) be creative, highly independent and self-motivated;

(f) be willing to learn and take on new tasks with high sense of ownership; and

(g) have good computer literacy and be familiar with MS Office.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Manager.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
