About Our Client

Our client is the Hong Kong subsidiary of a top-tier Chinese mutual fund house with a rapidly expanding international footprint. Over the past three years, the firm has successfully built a comprehensive offshore product platform spanning Luxembourg UCITS, Cayman vehicles, ETFs, mutual funds, and fixed income strategies.

The firm already maintains a strong leadership position in equity products across Europe and the Middle East, servicing institutional clients in over 20 countries. With Europe coverage largely established, the current strategic focus is to strengthen sales penetration in Southeast Asia and South Korea, where there is still a clear gap in high-caliber, English-native institutional sales professionals.

Job Description

Lead end-to-end institutional client coverage for sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, central banks, and large global allocators across the Middle East, South Korea, and selected Asian markets.
Originate, develop, and deepen strategic relationships, converting market access into scalable AUM growth across the firm's offshore product suite.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their asset allocation frameworks, governance structures, and investment preferences, providing tailored solutions across equities, fixed income, ETFs, and multi-asset strategies.
Serve as a front-line product specialist, independently delivering fund presentations, portfolio positioning, strategy rationale, and responding to detailed client inquiries without reliance on PMs.
Lead and manage RFPs, due diligence processes, and investment committee discussions, ensuring high-quality, timely, and technically robust responses
Translate investment insights into clear, client-facing narratives, bridging PM views (macro, outlook, portfolio construction) into actionable client communication.
Identify new business opportunities through continuous market mapping, competitor analysis, and tracking institutional capital flows.
Coordinate cross-functionally with investment, product, legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless onboarding, execution, and post-investment servicing.
Maintain disciplined pipeline management and structured client follow-ups using global best practices (email-driven communication, CRM tracking, regular engagement cadence).
Represent the firm in international roadshows, client meetings, and industry events, reinforcing brand positioning in global institutional markets.
Provide ongoing feedback to internal stakeholders on product gaps, client demand trends, and regional strategy adjustments.
Deliver against ambitious fundraising and revenue targets, with clear accountability for regional performance.

The Successful Applicant

Native English speaker with polished, professional communication skills.
20+ years of institutional sales experience within global asset management.
Deep, proven relationships with sovereign wealth funds and pension funds, particularly in the Middle East and/or South Korea.
Strong ability to operate as both sales lead and product specialist, with confidence in discussing portfolio construction, investment strategies, and market outlooks.
Demonstrated track record of raising assets and closing complex institutional mandates.
Experience working in leading global asset management firms highly preferred.
Strong understanding of institutional investment processes, governance, and RFP cycles.
High level of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and execution discipline.
Comfortable operating in a multicultural environment, bridging international best practices with Chinese corporate culture.
CFA or equivalent investment credentials preferred.
