The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a critical role in driving commercial growth, operational excellence, and market expansion in Macau. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader with strong experience across open trade, general trade, and pharmaceutical distribution ecosystems, with the ability to navigate a multi-channel environment.
Description
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Support the development and execution of market expansion strategies across Macau.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability across wellness product categories, general trade distribution, pharmaceutical/OTC channels, identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and channel development initiatives.
Channel & Commercial Management
- Oversee sales performance across pharmacies and healthcare outlets
- Open/general trade retail networks
- Select modern trade or specialty wellness channels
- Strengthen distributor relationships and optimize route-to-market models
- Ensure effective channel segmentation and pricing strategy
Operations & Execution
- Manage day-to-day operations including sales, supply chain coordination, and inventory planning
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory frameworks, especially in pharmaceutical-related product handling
- Enhance operational efficiency and implement best practices across functions
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations)
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders and senior leadership on business priorities
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure adherence to local Macau regulations for healthcare, wellness, and pharma-related products
- Work closely with regulatory and quality teams to maintain compliance standards
- Monitor market changes and anticipate regulatory shifts impacting business operations
Profile
- 8-12+ years of relevant experience in FMCG, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or wellness industries
- Proven experience managing in general trade / open trade channels
- Pharmaceutical or pharmacy channel exposure is essential
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or senior commercial role
- Strong business acumen and P&L management capability
- Deep understanding of Macau or Greater China market dynamics
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
