Senior HR Manager / HR Manager

Location: Hong Kong | Group Human Resources | Full-time

AISL Harrow is seeking an experienced and pragmatic HR Manager to join our Group Human Resources team in Hong Kong.

The role will have a primary focus on employee relations while also supporting a broader range of HR business partnering priorities. Working closely with school leaders, local HR teams and Group HR colleagues across our network of schools in Asia, the role will apply strong judgement and stakeholder management skills to provide practical advice on employee relations matters and policy interpretation, navigate sensitive and complex situations, and ensure that actions are followed through effectively. The role will also contribute to workforce planning, policy alignment, employee experience initiatives and the implementation of Group HR programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complex employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary cases, performance concerns, conduct issues, workplace conflict and employee complaints.
Lead or support impartial workplace investigations, ensuring a fair and consistent process, and prepare clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations.
Advise and coach school leaders and HR teams on sensitive employee matters, helping them manage issues effectively, consistently and in line with Group standards.
Provide practical HR business partnering support on workforce planning, organisational changes, succession planning and other people priorities.
Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, templates and guidance materials.
Maintain a sound understanding of applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions, and support the consistent application of HR policies and practices.
Identify people-related risks and recurring themes, and partner with school leaders and HR teams to assess workforce gaps, review staffing requirements and recommend appropriate actions to support effective workforce planning.
Deliver training and practical guidance to managers and HR colleagues on performance management, investigations, difficult conversations, employee relations, policy application and good people-management practices.
Work closely with relevant internal stakeholders and external legal advisers where specialist input is required.
Contribute to Group HR projects and initiatives across the school network, supporting continuous improvement and the consistent delivery of HR standards

Requirements

You will bring:

At least 6–8 years of relevant HR experience, with strong hands-on experience in employee relations and HR business partnering.
Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations cases and workplace investigations.
Experience in a multi-site, international or regulated organisation would be beneficial. Exposure to the education sector or an organisation with a strong safeguarding culture would be an advantage.
Confidence working with senior stakeholders across different cultures and operating environments.
Strong judgement, discretion and the ability to provide balanced, practical advice.
A high level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluency in English. Chinese language capability would be an advantage.
