Manager (Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship)

Responsibilities

Manage the startup funding programs with collaboration with partners in the entrepreneurship ecosystem
Design and implement training programs (e.g., market, venture finance), workshops, and mentorship initiatives
Proactively engage with faculty members and research teams across academic departments to identify inventions, technical achievements, and research results with commercial potential
Conduct technical and commercial assessments of emerging technologies
Cultivate relationships with industry, investment partners, and government bodies to create partnership opportunities and raise external funding
Research government subsidies, grants, and incentive policies for startups
Support tech commercialization activities and business development initiatives
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or above in Sciences and Engineering with at least 10 years’ experience, and a postgraduate degree is preferred
Experience in commercial setting for 3-5 years. I&T startup experience is advantageous
Proven experience in project management or business development
Demonstrated success in managing strategic initiatives, partnerships, and funding opportunities
Strong sense of identifying research output for commercialisation
Outcome-driven in fast-paced environment with strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Familiarity with local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, funding mechanisms, and incubation models
Experience in intellectual property commercialization and/or venture capital is a plus
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
Travelling and site visits may be occasionally required

Candidate with less experience will be considered for the position at the rank of Assistant Manager

Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
