Duties

(a) To support the day-to-day operation of the Health Manpower Survey, including but not limited to returned survey handling, book-in and data coding; (b) To perform quality check on data collected; (c) To perform data analysis and generate statistical tables and charts; (d) To assist in the preparation of reports and key findings; and (e) To perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirement

(a) Be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;

(b) An Ordinary Certificate in Statistics from the Hong Kong Statistical Society, or equivalent, with two years’ practical experience in statistical work; or i. a Higher Certificate in Statistics from the Hong Kong Statistical Society, or equivalent; or ii. a Higher Certificate in Mathematical Studies from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or equivalent; or iii. an Associate in Statistics and Computing for Business from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or equivalent; or iv. a Higher Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing / Statistics and Computing for Business from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or equivalent; or v. a Higher Diploma in Applied Statistics and Computing / Business Analysis from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent; or vi. a recognized degree or sub-degree in programmes with substantial contents of Statistics (e.g. programmes on risk management, actuarial science, data science, data analytics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Computer Science or other related disciplines).

(c) Preferably have 2 years’ of relevant post-qualification working experience in the fields related to data coding, data mining, data verification relating to quantitative survey; knowledge and/or hands-on experience of statistical/database programming language a plus;

(d) Preferably have relevant working experience in the Government or public sector.

(e) Have good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese and have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent;

(f) Have strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; and

(g) Be proficient in PC skills in particular the application of MS Office such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of statistical software, e.g. Visual Fox Pro, R, Python is preferred but not essential.
