Job Title: Assistant Manager, Talent & Learning Development
Job Scope: Global
Location: Hong Kong
Reports To: Associate Director, Talent & Learning Development
Role Summary:
With primary focus on talent acquisition, the AssistantManager, Talent & Learning Development will lead end-to-end talent acquisition while supporting talent management and learning initiatives across the organization.
This role partners closely with business leaders and HR Business Partners to attract, develop and retain high-quality talent, combining hands-on recruitment delivery with support for talent development, succession planning and capability-building initiatives aligned with business goals.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and strategic HR professional who can balance operational excellence with innovation and create lasting organizational impact.
This role is based in Hong Kong with occasional travel to Asia and Europe Regions.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition (Core Accountability)
- Develop and execute recruitment plans aligned with business priorities and manpower forecasts.
- Act as a trusted partner to business leaders on workforce planning, understanding hiring needs, required capabilities, culture fit, and future talent requirements.
- Manage the end-to-end talent acquisition process, including job briefing, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing and offer negotiation.
- Build and maintain robust talent pipelines through multiple sourcing channels including direct sourcing, employee referrals, agencies, social media, job boards, campus recruitment, etc.
- Champion employer brand as a company ambassador, deliver a positive, professional candidate experience through the hiring journey.
- Continuously improve talent acquisition processes to enhance quality, speed, cost-efficiency, and candidate experience.
- Identify, appoint, and manage recruitment agencies including relationship management, service quality, performance review and cost control.
- Monitor and report on key recruitment metrics and KPIs to support manpower planning and hiring decisions.
Talent Management and Learning & Development
- Manage training administration and logistics, including programme enrolment, vendor coordination, and maintenance of training records.
- Support the design and delivery of learning and development programmes and solutions, including training needs identification and vendor sourcing.
- Build strong partnerships with external consultants, learning institutions, and solution providers to strengthen internal development resources.
- Support the annual talent review and succession planning process, including high-potential (HiPo) identification, follow-up development actions, training & development plan, and succession planning coordination.
- Support the tracking of key talent metrics and KPIs for planning and management decision-making.
HR Projects
- Lead or participate in HR projects related to talent acquisition, employer branding and talent development, such as onboarding experience enhancement, EVP initiatives and HR awards participation, HR systems and workflow improvements, etc.
- Engage in the ongoing refinement of related HR policies, practices and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in sizable organizations, preferably in consumer retail, engineering, manufacturing, premium brand or FMCG industries.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in talent acquisition, including regional or global recruitment exposure (China and Asia preferred)
- Proven expertise in managing full-cycle recruitment and leveraging diverse sourcing strategies.
- Experience in talent management, leadership development, succession planning is an advantage.
- Proven track record as a change agent who has designed and implemented HR initiatives across the organization.
- Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed, and/or global environments.
