Job Purpose
The asset servicing function is a cross-LOB utility within Markets and Securities Services operations. The utility is responsible for processing all global corporate actions across the event lifecycle for Income, Mandatory, Mandatory with Options and Voluntary events.
The key responsibilities of the Asset Servicing Middle Office Senior Fund Accountant in Hong Kong will be to ensure accuracy and timeliness of global event processing. By working closely with our global service centers, the role will ensure all operational policies, procedures and activities are adhered to in-order to deliver a timely and accurate service that meets our client’s expectations.
The successful candidate must be able to manage day to day BAU activities as well as have a proven track record in troubleshooting, solutioning and supporting the delivery of any tactical or strategic change across an operational environment.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Support and deliver optimal BAU processing on a daily basis
• Validate end-2-end process life cycle of Corporate Action (CA) events including the accuracy of fund level entitlement, settlements and resolve reconciliation breaks between Custody and Accounting records
• Ensure any errors or losses are managed and escalated appropriately and within the existing controls framework
• Work with project or program leads to deliver tactical/strategic solutions in-order to deliver operational efficiencies and reduce risk
Requirements:
• Relevant experience in a management role of Custody/Funds Administration Function
• Project management experience with a proven track record to think strategically and support operational efficiencies across a large network of stakeholders.
• Experience of managing issues and investigating root causes with a mitigation plan is essential
• Deep understanding of the custody and funds administration product/services
• Interpersonal, presentational and written communication skills
• Work with SME’s to integrate change across direct custody, global custody and funds asset servicing as well as the wider operations to deliver the business strategy.
• Ability to plan and organize workload to meet deadlines, manage priorities and deliver against tight organizational deadlines
• System knowledge of core MSS platforms and operating systems such as Multifonds / IMS (Fund Admin), XSP (Middle Office Corporate Actions), TLM, GHSS would be an advantage
• System knowledge of Blackrock’s Aladdin platform would be an additional advantage
• Able to work on public holidays and in night shifts if needed to provide BAU support.
