About the Role

Reporting to the CHRO, the Senior Human Resources Manager owns end-to-end HR delivery for our employee population(s) in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai, currently totaling approx. 230 headcount.

As Ascentium matures from a decentralised structure toward a more integrated global HR model, this role will evolve alongside that transformation into a HR Business Partner role. You'll start by delivering hands-on, full-cycle HR, building credibility through operational excellence. As we introduce more specialised capabilities and support structures, you'll naturally transition toward strategic work such as workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, and leadership coaching.

We need someone who can execute flawlessly today while having the capability and ambition to become a strategic business partner tomorrow.

What You'll Doing

Own the full HR lifecycle:

• Manage recruitment end-to-end: post roles, screen candidates, coordinate hiring, and onboard new joiners.

• Lead performance cycles: goal setting, reviews, calibrations, and documentation.

• Execute compensation processes: annual reviews, promotions, benefits administration, and vendor management.

• Handle employee relations: investigations, disciplinaries, performance management, and terminations with sound judgment and documentation rigor.

• Oversee payroll coordination with Finance to ensure timely and accurate processing.

• Maintain HR data, produce reports, and respond to day-to-day employee and manager queries.

• Ensure compliance with local employment laws, regulations, and company policies; support audits and statutory reporting.

Act as trusted advisor to leaders:

• Coach managers through performance issues, difficult conversations, and team dynamics.

• Provide guidance on policies, ensuring consistent and compliant application.

• Build credibility as the go-to person for people matters.

Partner with Group HR:

• Collaborate with Centre of Excellence (Talent, Rewards, L&D) to implement enterprise initiatives locally.

• Translate global frameworks for cultural relevance while maintaining consistency.

• Contribute feedback on what works and what needs adaptation.

As you help shape our evolving model, you'll increasingly focus on:

• Proactive workforce planning aligned to business strategy.

• Organisational design, restructuring, and change management.

• Leadership coaching and capability building.

• Data-driven insights on talent risks and engagement.

What You'll Bring

Experience & capabilities:

• 8+ years HR experience with at least 4-5 of those as an HRBP or HR Generalist owning full lifecycle accountability.

• Hands-on ER expertise: you've managed investigations, disciplinaries, and terminations independently.

• Strong coaching skills: managers seek your advice because you add value, not just enforce policy.

• Operational excellence with strategic awareness: you connect HR activities to business outcomes.

• Technical proficiency with HRIS, ATS, and Excel.

• Exceptional communication skills, fluency in English is a must (additional regional languages a plus).

• Professional services, financial services, consulting, or law firm experience.

• Exposure to multi-business unit or post-M&A environments.

• Involvement in HR transformation or process improvement initiatives.

• Senior HR professional with regional Asia experience.
