Job Title: VP Product Development - Asia
Reports to: SVP, Global Sourcing & Production

The Role
As VP Product Development – Asia, you will provide enterprise leadership for Deckers’ multi-brand Product Development, Engineering, Innovation, Material Development, and Wear Test organizations across Asia. You’ll set the strategic direction, operating standards, and governance required to deliver consumer-led innovation, speed-to-market, quality excellence, and cost competitiveness at scale. As a senior leader, you’ll partner closely with Global Product, Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Brand leadership to ensure seamless execution across the product lifecycle. You’ll model Deckers Leadership Competencies by driving strategy, cultivating innovation, delivering results, and building inclusive, high-performing teams in a complex global environment.
Your Impact
- Set and lead the Asia product development strategy across brands and categories, aligned to enterprise priorities, consumer insights, and long-term growth objectives
- Establish clear governance, decision frameworks, and development standards that enable speed, consistency, and innovation across regions
- Own end-to-end product development execution, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality samples that meet performance, aesthetic, cost, and market requirements
- Establish and govern development processes, milestones, and critical paths to improve speed-to-market and operational efficiency
- Partner with Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Brand teams to balance innovation, manufacturability, scalability, and cost discipline
- Lead the evolution of materials, fitting, and engineering capabilities to deliver consumer-relevant innovation, best-in-class comfort, and consistent performance across all brands
- Drive the adoption of new materials, constructions, and engineering technologies that enhance sustainability impact, manufacturability, and speed-to-market while differentiating the product portfolio
- Balance innovation with discipline by establishing clear guardrails that ensure development processes are scalable, production-ready, and aligned with global quality, chemical, and environmental standards
- Act as a senior integration point across US PD Team, Production, and other functional organizations to ensure alignment and seamless execution
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with partner factories and supplier leaders to enable innovation, reliability, and long-term capability development
- Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams by attracting top talent, coaching leaders, and creating clear development and succession plans
- Champion inclusion, diversity, and psychological safety, ensuring teams feel empowered, heard, and accountable for shared outcomes

Who You Are
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Engineering, or related field
- Bring 15+ years of progressive experience in footwear product development and costing, with 10+ years in people leadership roles and at least 5 years at senior leadership level
- Possess deep expertise in footwear development, engineering, materials, costing, and manufacturing
- Proven experience leading multi-brand, multi-region organizations within Asia
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to lead through complexity and change
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
- Deep understanding of Asia manufacturing and supplier ecosystems
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills across cultures and time zones
