Job Position

As the Responsible Officer (RO) overseeing the company’s insurance business, fully responsible for regulatory compliance, product strategy, business development and team management, ensuring the company’s operations adhere to all requirements of the Insurance Authority (IA).

Requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree or above.

2.5 years of experience in the insurance industry, including no less than 2 years of managerial experience.

3.Hold (or be eligible to apply for) the Insurance Authority-approved Responsible Officer (RO) license for insurance brokers.

4.Have passed Papers I, III and V of the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (IIQE).

5.In-depth understanding of the Hong Kong insurance market, regulatory landscape and various insurance products.

6.Proven track record of achieving sales targets, with familiarity with the business models of insurance brokerages or agency firms.

7.Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

8.Integrity, strong compliance awareness, ability to work independently, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

9.Hong Kong permanent resident or holder of a valid working visa with no employment restrictions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance & Regulation (Core Duties)

Serve as the primary contact between the company and the Insurance Authority (IA), handling all regulatory matters including annual filings, ad-hoc inspections, notices and submission of returns.

Manage the maintenance of the insurance broker license to ensure its continuous validity.

Develop, review and update internal control systems, anti-money laundering (AML/CFT) policies, KYC (Know Your Client) procedures and operational protocols to ensure full regulatory compliance.

Report compliance risk status to senior management and drive rectification measures.

Ensure that insurance intermediaries comply with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and internal policies during business development.

2. Product Strategy & Business Development

Formulate the annual product roadmap, defining key product lines (general insurance, long-term insurance, investment-linked insurance, cross-border solutions) and target customer segments.

Evaluate new insurance companies and products, and conduct ongoing product due diligence.

Negotiate product terms with insurers to secure exclusive partnerships and competitive advantages in the market.

Conduct market research and internal product analysis to maintain the competitiveness of the company’s product portfolio.

3. Business Growth & Sales Management

Develop and implement insurance business growth strategies to drive achievement of sales targets.

Manage the profit and loss (P&L) of the insurance business to ensure profitability.

Collaborate with business development and sales teams to develop potential client channels.

Lead marketing campaigns, digital marketing strategies and client events to enhance market penetration.

Partner with wealth advisors to explore cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base.

4. Operations & Team Management

Oversee business operations, and establish, review and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for insurance business.

Lead and manage the insurance sales/operations team to build a high-performance team culture.

Provide regulatory and product guidance to intermediaries and sales personnel.

Support team members in delivering professional insurance product and service recommendations to clients.

5. Partner Relationship Management

Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, insurers and other stakeholders.

Coordinate with product providers and internal departments (legal, compliance, operations, finance, IT) to ensure product approval and sales processes meet regulatory standards.
