Responsibilities:
- Establish, nurture, and manage strategic relationships with hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals to enhance network adequacy, accessibility, and service quality.
- Lead contract negotiations for service packages, fees, and partnership models within delegated authority, supporting long-term fee optimization strategies.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management, including onboarding, renewals, and terminations, ensuring compliance and timely execution.
- Collaborate with clinical, legal, and compliance teams to ensure provider qualifications, adherence to regulations, and alignment with clinical standards.
- Monitor provider performance, analyze cost and quality metrics, and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
- Facilitate regular reviews with providers and hospitals to discuss service performance, fee trends, and partnership development opportunities.
- Support operational activities such as data management, workflow efficiency, and resolution of provider-related issues, including claims and fee discrepancies.
- Lead analytical and benchmarking initiatives to inform network strategy, market positioning, and provider performance improvements.
- Partner with Claims and other internal teams to enhance reimbursement workflows and claims processing efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to KPIs, compliance standards, and ethical practices, driving continuous process improvements.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks and assignments to support team objectives and organizational needs.
- For senior roles: Lead complex negotiations, contribute to network strategy development, and oversee major contractual initiatives with strategic hospitals and providers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- A clinical qualification (e.g. nursing, or allied health) is highly desirable and should be explicitly stated as a differentiator.
- 5-8 years of experience in provider network management, contracting, or healthcare payer operations; demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and monitor performance.
- Medical background (preferred for extended capability): Clinical training/experience that enables interpretation of medical policies, quality metrics, and cost-quality trade-offs.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Analytical mindset with comfort using metrics, benchmarks, and provider performance data
- Ability to translate clinical concepts into business terms
- Project management and ability to manage multiple contracting cycles simultaneously
- Familiarity with provider credentialing and clinic accreditation (collaboration with dedicated teams)
