We are recruiting for a Associate, Governance and Controls, APAC Finance for a reputable Foreign Bank. This is a newly created 6-Months Contract role (renewable) sitting within the Finance team in Hong Kong, and be involved in various projects and initiatives within Finance department to ensure there is an appropriate Governance structure across Asia Pacific

Role Responsiblities

The candidate will report to the Head of HK Finance and be involved in various projects and initiatives within Finance department to ensure there is an appropriate Governance structure
To be Finance governance support for APAC, ensuring Finance’s oversight function ‘s role to ensure controls are properly documented, monitored and tested.
Provide advisory services for process enhancements, control implementation, key risk identification, regulatory exposure among various others.
You will ensure ongoing control effectiveness though creating test plans and testing to determine design and operating effectiveness of the control environment, including Regulatory governance.
Ensure there is an effective process is in place to manage quarterly reporting/ testing requirements and ongoing maintenance of program database
Be responsible for Control Activities: Test controls for design and operating effectiveness, identify any control deficiencies and monitor timely implementation of remediation plans. o Responsible for testing controls on a regular basis
Support the monitoring and completion of incident reports, operational Risk and controls self-assessments and change initiative risk assessments.
Review and validate process documentation controls on a regular basis, including undertaking walkthrough tests. o Ensure timely and accurate completion of program documentation and testing and sign off as required for the quarterly work package submission.

Role Requirements

Knowledge of banking products and associated risks and controls
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong written skills with the ability to enhance existing documents and procedures.
Part qualified /qualified ACA or CPA equivalent with experience of working within Capital Markets, Banking and / or Big 4 experience
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
