Purpose of role:
This role has end-to-end accountability for Finance across Hong Kong and strategic oversight of Taiwan, acting as a senior finance leader and trusted business partner to the Hong Kong & Taiwan leadership teams. The role ensures strong financial governance, commercial insight, regulatory compliance, and value creation across markets, while actively supporting route-to-market evolution, ERP transformation, and process standardisation within Greater China.
Responsibilities include:
Area 1 – Hong Kong Finance Leadership, Governance & Company Directorship
The role holder has full ownership of the Hong Kong finance scope, covering both commercial finance and controlling, and acts as Company Director.
- Full accountability for Hong Kong finance across Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Record to Report processes.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, including month-end close, statutory accounts, and management reporting.
- Oversee balance sheet integrity, working capital management, inventory, trade receivables/payables, and cash flow, ensure smooth treasury operation
- Oversee proper settlement, validation, and documentation of trade spending and A&P in coordination with Commercial teams.
- Fulfill statutory duties as Company Director, ensuring compliance with all local legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks to protect company assets and reputation.
- Act as the key liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators. Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Ensure smooth execution of external and internal audits with no material audit findings
- Support group tax planning and treasury operation. Oversee statutory filings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and optimisation where appropriate.
- Work closely with Corporate Secretary to coordinate and keep records of Board meetings/resolutions
- Coordinate and review risks management process to ensure critical business risks have been highlighted sufficiently and appropriately
Area 2 – Greater China Route-to-Market Support & Business Transformation
The role actively supports route-to-market initiatives across Greater China, with a strong focus on finance enablement to support transformation as the business explores and unlocks new opportunities
- Partner with Greater China commercial and operation teams to support evolving route-to-market models across Greater China.
- Liaise with group Finance experts and China controlling teams, ensure appropriate accounting treatments, controls, and documentation are in place for new business models and channels.
- Drive tax-efficient and compliant structures and processes across Greater China in collaboration with group and external tax experts
- Actively participate in finance and business transformation initiatives. Support the successful implementation of the new ERP system, ensuring finance processes, controls, data integrity, and reporting requirements are met.
- Champion process simplification, automation, and standardisation across markets
Area 3 – Hong Kong & Taiwan Leadership Team Member and Taiwan Oversight
The role is a core member of the Hong Kong & Taiwan leadership team, providing strategic finance leadership and oversight for the Taiwan market. Steer local strategies, assess performance, and support sustainable growth.
- Build trusted relationships with cross function teams including sales, marketing, and operations to ensure transparent communication of financial performance across both HK and TW markets.
- Act as the strategic advisor for key business decisions by providing grounded financial perspectives, scenario modelling, and ROI assessment.
- Support investment decisions, business cases, and prioritisation through robust financial analysis. Understand business drivers (pricing, channel and product mix, demand trends, cost structure, operating expenses), and their financial implications to guide forward‑looking decisions.
- Lead financial planning cycle including annual budget, quarterly forecast, and monthly rolling forecast for both HK and TW markets. Support integrated business planning (IBP) cycles to ensure demand, supply, and commercial alignment.
- Evaluate new product proposals, channel opportunities, promotional investments, and partnership initiatives from a commercial and financial lenses. Lead business case development and track outcomes against assumptions to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure pricing governance, margin protection, and cost visibility across channels
- Lead and develop a small finance team in Hong Kong and Taiwan, fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Leverage strong collaboration with the Taiwan local finance team to drive continuous improvement and capability uplift.
Who are you?
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience in multinational companies or complex business environments.
- [Experiences in Big Four, Consulting, or Finance Leadership programs is a plus. Industry background in FMCG or Healthcare is a plus.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, CA or ACCA) and MBA is a plus]Strong experience across commercial finance and FP&A. Strategic financial thinking with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Able to distil complex financial data into clear insights for business communication
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to work in fast‑changing environments. Balancing commercial mindset with disciplined financial stewardship, looks beyond Finance boundaries.
- Solid understanding of Hong Kong accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements; Familiarity with Hong Kong Company Directorship duties is a plus. Exposure to Taiwan and Greater China markets is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of finance operations including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, multi-currency treasury & cashflow management.
- Well-versed in performing internal control and sound knowledge of risks and controls in an organization.
- Strong ownership and self-driven, thrives in a changing environment and actively drive transformation and improvement. Experience supporting ERP or finance transformation initiatives.
- Proven people leadership experience with the ability to lead and develop a small, high-performing team
- Excellent collaboration with cross‑functional teams and diverse stakeholders. Communicates clearly, able to challenge constructively and influence confidently.
