COMPANY OVERVIEW :

We are an European-owned food importer and full-service distributor specialising in fresh and frozen products, with a strong focus on meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, fresh produce, dry goods and confectionery.
We operate multi‑temperature warehousing and in‑house logistics, and serve supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, clubs, caterers and other food‑service operators in Hong Kong.

ROLE SUMMARY :

You will support the Meat Team Leader in managing international meat sourcing, supply planning and category performance.
This role focuses on supply chain coordination, stock management, supplier communication and market monitoring to ensure the meat category operates efficiently, meets customer demand and delivers strong margins.

POSITION MISSION :

Ensure accurate stock planning and high availability of key meat items to support customer demand and sales growth.
Coordinate imports and supplier communication effectively, minimising delays, stock gaps and operational issues.
Provide clear, timely market and pricing analysis that supports sound commercial decisions and stable margins.
Strengthen internal communication and alignment between ordering, shipping, sales and warehouse teams.
Enhance visibility and control of demand and supply dynamics within the meat category, supporting long‑term category development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Maintain regular communication with international meat suppliers and support the Meat Team Leader in placing purchase orders with overseas vendors.
Monitor supplier pricing trends and market developments on the supply side.
Track supplier production and shipment schedules and highlight potential risks or delays.
Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of key items while avoiding both out‑of‑stock and overstock situations.
Work closely with the warehouse team to reconcile system stock versus physical stock and support good stock rotation.
Identify slow‑moving or ageing items and support clearance or promotional strategies.
Assist with demand forecasting based on sales history, current customer purchasing patterns, sales pipeline opportunities and seasonal trends.
Work with the Meat Team Leader to plan purchasing volumes and timing accordingly.
Monitor market pricing trends in the Hong Kong meat market and analyse supplier pricing changes and potential cost movements.
Maintain clear communication with sales teams regarding pricing trends, supply issues and product availability.
Coordinate closely with warehouse and logistics teams regarding inventory levels, product condition and stock movements.
Highlight items requiring sales focus, promotion or clearance activity.

IDEAL CANDIDATES :

Experience in meat buying or meat category management in supermarket chains or major food retailers.
Additional experience in food distribution, food service supply or fresh / chilled food categories is an advantage.
Proficient in English & Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus
Experience working with international suppliers and/or import logistics is beneficial.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with good Excel proficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, sales, logistics and warehouse teams.
High attention to detail and accuracy in orders, documentation and data.
Ability to manage multiple operational priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Commercial awareness and interest in market dynamics and pricing.
