Responsibilities:
- UX Frameworks: Lead the development and enforcement of a comprehensive UX/UI System Guideline (Design System) to ensure visual and design consistency across the entire digital ecosystem of educational platforms and mobile applications of EdCity;
- Product Analytics & Insights: Utilize product analytics tools to monitor user behavior, derive actionable insights, and proactively suggest data-driven optimizations for product features and user interfaces;
- User Journeys Optimization across Products: Map and refine complex user journeys across varied products and platforms to reduce friction and enhance the overall efficiency of digital learning and teaching;
- User Research: Design and conduct qualitative and qualitative research, including focus groups, surveys, and usability testing with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, students, and parents. In addition, proactively gather and synthesize user insights from internal user-facing and business teams to inform design decisions;
- UX Ownership & Quality Control: Act as the primary design authority to ensure UX guidelines are strictly adopted and implemented by both internal technical teams and external contractors, maintaining high standards of delivery;
- Proficiency in Design Tools: Be proficient in UX design software, including Figma, to design user flow charts, wireframes, and high-fidelity layout mockups. Prepare comprehensive handover materials and specifications for internal technical teams or external contractors to ensure accurate implementation;
- UX/UI Consultancy: Provide expert UX/UI advice to internal units, aligning design strategies with user goals, organizational growth objectives and brand identity;
- Accessibility Advocacy: Ensure all digital products meet web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and requirements suitable for different user groups and learning needs;
- Contractor Management: Coordinate with external contractors to ensure outsourced development remains compliant with established UX standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Creative Media, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design or related disciplines;
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in UX/UI design or product design, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience;
- Expertise UX design software, including Figma, and a proven ability to produce professional-grade user flows, wireframes, and design specifications;
- Proven ability to use data analytics platforms including Google Analytics to inform design decisions and measure product success;
- Strong practical skills in conducting focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and large-scale user surveys within a complex service environment;
- Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external teams to capture and prioritize user requirements;
- A proven track record of building and managing Design Systems or frameworks that have been successfully adopted by multiple products;
- Proactively keep up with the latest trends in EdTech products, emerging UX/UI best practices, and evolving industry standards;
- Strong understanding of EdTech UX and school-based IT environments;
- Understanding of front-end technologies to ensure effective communication with development teams and contractors;
- Good communication skills to enforce UX standards and advocate for best UX practices among internal and external stakeholders;
- Professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Project Officer / Senior Product Designer.
